Is this what you can expect if a disaster hits your area?
« on: January 18, 2010, 03:40:11 AM »
Ok, just wondering.  In the movies,... hahaha, the movies... we always see the planes flying over and dumping supplies into disaster areas where they can't get to which makes total sence.  In reality we've seen lately that they just get piled up at the gate because, and no fucking shit, they can't get to the areas needing supplies....  So, when the mass disaster hits your area, don't expect for relief to drop from the sky.  It's miles away trapped at an airport or road in.  Keep your own emergency supplies and hope they didn't get destroyed and you can get to them.  Same thing happened with Katrina.  Infact if one person shoots a gun, they keep all the supplies from getting to those who need them...

WTF or is that the plan.....

HUGO - I have had lemmings like Lurker and Straw ridicule me for making emergency preparations in the case of disaster.  Who is the idiot now?

Anyone who thinks disaster cant strike at any time anywhere at any time of the day deserves to die and starve because we have all been warned.

Yep...a disaster here can be anything...hurricane, earthquake, terrorist attack, economical collapse, etc.  I'm prepared and I'm not crazy for having food, water cans, supplies, and of course ammunition, guns, and the training and will to use them.   ;D

I have enough ammo and guns.  I have been shoring up other stuff for the food panty with items that have a long shelf life.  I also have a lot of other shit like flashlights, batteries, crank radio, and have been reading a lot about water lately.

I never made fun of you simply for "being prepared".  I made fun of you for being a paranoid delusional fucktard.

btw - you're not really preparing for a natural disaster are you?

You're preparing for what you think will be inevitable anarchy from Obama's "socialist" or "marxist" agenda right?

Could be anything.  I live in NYC and am often at the court house where your hero is putting KSM on trial.

NYC is also on an earthquake fault itself.  Remember the east coast brownout we had?  What if that same thing happens only it lasts for a week?

As far as anarchy goes, I have always said, and said to you yesterday - if brown can get get in and some GOP wins in the senate stalemate obama, we may be ok.  But if crap and tax, HCR, a few more terrorist attacks happen, mad max here we come.

Dont worry Straw, I have enough provisions for you too if you did not prepare adequately.

thanks for the offer but I'll do fine and more importantly, I'm not as easily scared as you seem to be.

since you seem to think Mad Max is a real I assume you're hoarding petrol and putting armor on your car too

crazy much?

I'm not in Casper, but have lived there.  And other things can happen to anyone anywhere other than a hurricane.  Plus the thread was asking about others, not so much addressing needs for myself.  It seems like people have an expectation that the planes will fly over dropping supplies.  We kind of see after several events in recent years that the supplies will be gathered to rot while you're dying lol...

The other day there was some emergency worker that was chewing ass for those who don't keep an emergency stock; pointing out the fact that for every assclown he's saving who could have temporarily sustained themselves, there are people dying that really needed their help.  Something like that, made sense to me.

Everything I have read says that at a minimum you need 72 hours worth of stuff.  Lurker ridiculed me for putting together what is basically a 72 hour pack for each of my cars saying I was paranoid.  Water and Warmth seem to be very important IMHO.

Glad I'm not the only one with supplies.

It isn't fear...it's preparedness.  Like many, I deal with the threat of Hurricanes every year in SC, we are also on a fault line and had two minor earthquakes within just weeks of each other.  Anything can happen and this southern boy will be prepared as I can be for anything.

Exactly.  My phrase is that I would rather have and not need, than to need and not have.

I think it's great you have a preparation plan 333, maybe your motives behind it leave you to ridicule i.e. Obama will take over the world nonsense.  I too have a stockpile of food, water and fuel. I also similar rations at my lake house in case i get caught there due to weather etc.
Abandon every hope...

I am convinced you must be revoltingly negative and vicious company to be around.  Being 'scared' doesn't have anything to do with being prepared.  I lived in CA and we had earthquakes, riots, etc.  I lived in Japan and we had earthquakes and the threat of tsunamis.  I lived in upstate NY we had 180 inches of snow in three days and negative 40 degree temps.  Even now I live in a flood plain and it wouldn't take much for the ghetto's of Baltimore to become the next LA '92.  Shit happens.. Someone as hard left as you probably believes the whole 'climate crisis' mess so you should support anyone while a stockpile of supplies and rations in case THE PLANET TURNS ON IT'S CHILDREN!!  OH NO!!!!  :O  ::)

And considering what your commie prez and current admin have been up to I think hoarding gas isn't a bad idea.

I realize being a liberal and an asshole makes you more naive and pigheaded than usual but you really take the 'educated moron' thing to the next level.
