Check out this dramatic weightloss...Not nearly as bad as The Mechanist but jeez, he really fucked hisself up....

This is for that movie "The Fighter" with Mark Wahlberg, as Mickey Ward and Bale will play his Dicky Eklund.

That being said I'm still freaked out seeing Bale in the Machinist. Dude weighed barely over 100 pounds at 6'0" tall. That's taking method acting to the EXTREME. In interviews around that time he was always weak and cold and could barely talk.

Shit. This level of malnourishment can not be good. I think I am starting to notice significant thinning of his hair. Once your eating habits start to effect your hair, you know it's pretty serious.

Calorie restriction is actually healthy for you although Christian took it to the extremes by eating only one apple and a can of tuna fish per day to prepare for the Machinist. I imagine that such an extreme diet is more than likely more healthy than bulking up by gaining 50 pounds of fat as some actors have for roles.

Pretty sure I read he was a little over 120 and that his doctor wouldnt let him go any lower. But at his height that is extremely emaciated.
