this election is a microcosm of the 2008 election.

personality...
brown is a centerfold model who brags about driving an american truck to far-right voters who care more about a flag pin on a shirt than a brain in the head.  Brown's an anti-labor guy who isn't going to do much more than pump his fists yelling "America... Fvck yea!!"  Coakley on the other hand, is a horrible candidate.  lazy and shitty on many levels.

one major issue...
the economy.  It was the war during the last election.  Brown promises change.  Nothing is gonna change if he wins.  or, healthcare.  brown wins, national healthcare fails, which benefits those in 49 states not called mass (but ensures Brown got crazy resourses).

mood of change....
broke people are voting against the status quo.  GOOD!

So yeah... just like in 2008, you have a rock star against a stale candidate, the mood of change, and an issue where one person (coakley) is just on the wrong side of.

Poor 240 - are you going to be upset when Deathcare fails like I said it would?

dude, 33, stop being a dickhead.  Initially i asked questions about healthcare for a month, decided I did not like it, amd have spent 2 months talking about why I don't like it.

now, would you please stop being a dick?  I mean really.  youre just making shit up here.  why would you do that?

Geez - relax bro.  I was kidding.

Look, the people are revolting against Obama like I said he would.  People dont want his radical shit anymore and its no longer funny.  He is the balck GWB, no offense to black people of course.

I really think that Obama is toxic right now.

I just did a simple anaylsis of why this election is a lot like 2008.  I didn't defend healthcare.

you are pissed off... god knows why... youre mad at obama... lately youre calling everyone communists and marxists... youre making up postitions and just assining them to people randomly..

whatever dude...  shit is getting old.  I can't post an analysis of an election without being personally attacked.... fine, screw it...

Did you lose a bet this past weekend that broke the bank or something?  I guess my calling marxists out has been my spending too much time at DU and reading those posts over there.  ;D  ;D  ;D

As far as the analysis goes, we need to wait to see the final result.

lol nah, it's just that every time I post... in this case breaking down why this election is very similar to 2008... rock star on right side of issue with more style than substance... vs establishment flake on wrong side of major issue.

and instead of 'i agree because' or 'i disagree'... it's (predictably)... Hey 240, i was right and you were wrong (even though I didn't support Coakley nor HCR).  I mean, you derail the thread, call me out for positions I didn't take, and just generally attempt to start an argument about the messenger instead of the message.

I can't post on anything without "hey, you're a commie kneepadder!" being the response.

Fine - this is simple 240

1.  People are sick of Obama
2.  The HCR is a sack of shit
3.  People hate Pelosi
4.  Coakley is another snot liberal idiot
5.  Brown ran a good race.

Thats all you need to know.

i posted an analysis of the election.  it was immediately met with rubbing 'told ya so' shit in my face.  I've been against the healthcare bill, and I've reminded him of it over and over.

i love politics, and I love to study elections and races, and discuss it.  I dont really want to spend an hour defending myself against a false claim like that... I never liked this bill.

It's been like this for a month now... every time I post, I get attacked and called names.  No more debate, no more real in-depth talk on issues.  it's all namecalling and insults.

You mean like the way you have gone after Sarah Palin with personal attacks for the last year ?

Your post on here about her youngest child, and how it might not be hers...... that was real classy 240, especially considering that you are a Father.

i was wrong about the baby thing, and i'm sorry for that.

she claimed her water broke at 5 am.  Then, 14 hours later, she boarded 2 planes, with a premature 5th birth coming.  This was VERY poor judgment - and judgment is something a president needs.

anyway, I guess i'm taking this place too seriously.

I don't see anything exciting or worthwhile in either candidate, just another cookie cutter politician sqeezed out of the same molds as most of the others. It's all calculated image creation and hot air.

What orifice did you pull this out of?

I'm up here and following this closely.  Brown is appealing to the thinking person who is sick of the status quo up here.  He's appealing to moderates and independents like myself who are tired of the Massachusetts machine and sense of entitlement.   He's appealing to those of us who work and make good money but have to give so fucking much of it up.  He's appealing to DEMOCRATS who have been completely put off by having their intelligence insulted by Coakley's transparent and blatantly untrue ads.

Your statement couldn't be further from reality.

The polls here were busier than any I've seen for any election.  What that translates to, I don't know.  There's been speculation that high turnout means the Machine is running and Coakley will win.  On the flip side, moderates and independents are turning out in record number.  It's pretty fun, to tell you the truth.

Let's see:

Obama stumps for Creigh Deeds....Deeds get KILLED in Virginia

Obama stumps for Corzine in NJ.....Christie got sworn in a few hours ago.

Obama campaigns for Coakely......Brown's beating her 53-46, with 60% of precincts reporting.

Actually, it's 65% in, still 53-46 Brown. Howard Dean is hoping that Boston hasn't been included in those precincts.

He is the 41st vote against health care and crap & tax.  That is good enough for me.

Politics...
say what they want to hear.
Get into the seat of power and realize how the game is played.

Other than the fact that he is a registered Republican...
His campaign distanced itself from the title on the trail.

It is going to be interesting to see his policies once in office.

whenever a conservative made predictions about how liberal obama would be on this board you threw up the 'you don't know what he's gonna do' flag and here you sit doing the same yourself.

Brown 2012?

sounds better than palin 2012.  i love her but the media destroyed her way past the brink of a victory.  romney is still one of my fav's.. hell i'd even go for huck or rudy.

obama may well be the greatest gift to conservatives so far.  people aren't running fast enough to get out from under this guy.
