It's laughable that some of you still think that big muscles equals better ability to kick someones ass.  I weigh 215lbs and routinely get submitted in my BJJ classes by guys that whey 170-175.  Sometimes, it's because they have better technique/skills, but usually it's becasue they have better conditioning.  The more muscle you carry, the more fatigued you get.  And it's not the same kind of fatigue as you get from doing all-out drop sets & super sets or intense endurance events.  The best way I can describe it, is that your muscles feel like lead after 3-4 minutes of intense grappling.  You can barely move.

Anyone without fighting skills weighing 220+ would be destroyed by an intermediate grappler.  Look at the old Kimo vs Royce fight.  Kimo outweighed Royce by 70lbs (of muscle) AND was a training fighter.  Imagine what Royce could do to Cutler or Coleman ::)

Or Pudzi, or Lesnar, or Lashey.... etc... ::)

who cares...

Well for us wrestlers, after University MMA is the only vessel we have to utilize our wrestling skills and compete. We love competing. And the top guys are all millionairs, and the superstars like Chuck and Randy make close to 10 million a year. Even the low teir UFC guys make more than any IFBB pro.

There is some serious delusion out there with the lost dreamers thinking that MMA fighters are celebs or millionaires.

I LOL @ the comparison to IFBB pro's... as if thats the measuring stick of success! ;D

Simple, lost manhood, or trying to reclaim it. Today's Am males are lost, trying to figure out where they belong in American society---which has taken their balls away. So you have anger, angst, pent up frustration. So you fight, and hen try to thumb your nose at the society that has subjegated you, has castrated you.

Are you saying they need to watch Fight Club? ;)

I don't know, its the battle, the going to war with the other guys, hanging together, having our own dorm, staying in hotels the night before the games fight, setting ourselves apart, being different than everybody else, having a chance to be somebody, to do something that people look up to you for, your strength, your courage, not everybody can play football be an MMA FIGHTER... were the lucky ones

The competition is better in strikeforce/dream than UFC. Kharatonov, Barnett, Overeem would wreck everyone one in the uFC. The only UFC HW on their level is Brock.

Is that so?  Why then do all of the rankings have mainly UFC fighters in the top 10?  Here is the MMA Consensus Ranking for 2009. Six of the top 10 are UFC fighters:

1   Fedor Emelianenko   M-1 Global/Strikeforce
2   Brock Lesnar   UFC
3   Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira   UFC
4   Frank Mir   UFC
5   Junior dos Santos   UFC
6   Cain Velasquez   UFC

7   Josh Barnett   WVR
8   Shane Carwin   UFC
9   Brett Rogers   Strikeforce
10   Alistair Overeem   DREAM/Strikeforce

Fedor's next fight is against Werdum, who does not even make the top ten.  If Fedor wants to be considered the best, he should be fighting the best.  Until then, he's a paper champ fighting cans...

so your gonna stand behind those rankings as accurate?^^^despite the fact they have fedor at #1?....you cant pick & choose what you want to take from the rankings...If you choose to stand by those rankings as being accurate then you must agree with fedor being at #1....

Who gives a shit about rankings, they always favor the ufc fighters. Sergei K and Aleks E are not even listed so that shows the accuracy ::) Everyone knows Barnett is the second best HW. Barnett and Kharatonov would be amazing fights with Fedor as would Overeem. I admit I want to see Brock fight Fedor more than anything but to say Fedor is afraid of the UFC fighters is absurd. He beat the highest Ranking UFC fighter after Brock twice already.

I think Barnett and Sergei Kharatonov would beat Every UFC fighter including Lesnar and that Overeem and Aleks E would beat them all except for Brock and maybe Carwin.

Fedors last three fights= Sylvia ranked 4 at the time, Arlovski ranked 3 at the time and Rogers ranked 7 at the time. Harldy what I would call cans.

So if Brock fights Nog Mir and Carwin respectivly, would he be fighting cans? Whats the difference between that and Fedors last three? Why the double standard?
