Why would anyone wanna be an MMA Fighter?

People want to be MMA fighters for the same reason people compete in any sport. They want to see how the rank against their fellow man. The adrenaline from raw combat is intense and makes it worthwhile at first however these guys train to keep their adreniline dumps in check as shortly after the high from adreniline you are totally drained which is what they want to avoid in these 15-25 min. matches. These guys are gladiators and they spend hours in the gym and on the mat because they want to be the best and the toughest. Also once a MMA fighter makes it to the big stage it can be very lucrative.

It's easy for Brock to be hyped up as much as he is when his company runs the sport.  Let's see...

Brock beats a journeyman, a 45 year old man he outweighs by 60lbs, and Frank Mir who is a legitimate contender, and he is the #2 heavyweight in the world.  If he was in Strikeforce and Fedor was in the UFC, Fedor would be considered the greatest fighter who ever lived on every promo the UFC runs and Brock would be the guy who "hasn't beat anyone yet".

Who gives a shit about rankings, they always favor the ufc fighters. Sergei K and Aleks E are not even listed so that shows the accuracy Everyone knows Barnett is the second best HW. Barnett and Kharatonov would be amazing fights with Fedor as would Overeem. I admit I want to see Brock fight Fedor more than anything but to say Fedor is afraid of the UFC fighters is absurd. He beat the highest Ranking UFC fighter after Brock twice already.



I think Barnett and Sergei Kharatonov would beat Every UFC fighter including Lesnar and that Overeem and Aleks E would beat them all except for Brock and maybe Carwin.





Fedors last three fights= Sylvia ranked 4 at the time, Arlovski ranked 3 at the time and Rogers ranked 7 at the time. Harldy what I would call cans.


So if Brock fights Nog Mir and Carwin respectivly, would he be fighting cans? Whats the difference between that and Fedors last three? Why the double standard?

Sergia beat Overeem, Werdum, Rizzo and Mike Russow who is every bit the wrestler that Lesnar was and I think he would beat most UFC HW. Frank Mir was owned by Cruz pe de pano, and a LHW Brandon Vera. Are you really going to count those Mir loses   The dude was told he might never walk again, let alone fight, after a motorcycle accident crushed his leg.  Those fights were after the accident while he was trying to come back.  Please

whatever man, he was cleared by the state athletic commisions doctors to fight so they couldnt have been that bad. And his fights with Simms were before the accident as was his bought with Freeman.

The commision wont let you fight for things as minor as a sprain or if your blood pressure is ten points too high so dont kid yourself that it was Mirs injury that lost him those fights. He lost to Cruz because Cruz has far better BJJ than Mir and lost to Vera because he was an inferior striker and turtled when he was hit.

Is that so?  Why then do all of the rankings have mainly UFC fighters in the top 10?  Here is the MMA Consensus Ranking for 2009. Six of the top 10 are UFC fighters:

Fedor's next fight is against Werdum, who does not even make the top ten.  If Fedor wants to be considered the best, he should be fighting the best.  Until then, he's a paper champ fighting cans...

And Mindspin, Roids or no roids if you were a Pride fan you have wanted to see Fedor vs Barnett since 2006 and have already seen Fedor dismantle a prime Nogueira twice. There are lots of good fights outside of the UFC for Fedor and the Strikeforce/Dream HW division is on par withthe UFC HW division IMO, and even if we go by your stats its almost a 60-40 split in the top ten which the exclusion of Sergie K, AA, Aleks ect.
