Text of Obama's emails today. Subject: Massachusetts
« on: January 20, 2010, 07:52:35 PM »
Yesterday's disappointing election results show deep discontent with the pace of change. I know the OFA community and the President share that frustration.

We also saw what we knew to be true all along: Any change worth making is hard and will be fought at every turn. While it doesn't take away the sting of this loss, there is no road to real change without setbacks along the way.

We could have simply sought to do things that were easy, that wouldn't stir up controversy. But changes that aren't controversial rarely solve the problem.

Our country continues to face the same fundamental challenges it faced yesterday. Our health care system still needs reform. Wall Street still needs to be held accountable. We still need to create good jobs. And we still need to continue building a clean energy economy.

The President isn't walking away from these challenges. In fact, his determination and resolve are only stronger. We must match that commitment with our own.

But it won't be easy. Real change never is. For that reason, I am grateful you're part of this fight with us.

Thank you,

its not that the direction of change is not what ppl want is that the change isnt coming fast enough?  ::)

the straight up ego that this guy has is amazing...

Notice also how creating jobs comes after healthcare and holding wall street accountable?

who here feels that creating jobs should be our first and only priority at this moment in time?

interesting... yes, anyone who is out of work or living with reduced work (myself included) wants jobs FIRST and foremost.

but to play devils advocate (without being called a kneepadder)...

Is there any chance Obama is looking 10 years down the road?  Does he believe that jobs will recover in 2 years or so... but if he doesn't get healthcare thru now, we'll be looking at a crisis on par with oil, housing, or economy (those we see now) a few years down the road?

Clinton could have drilled for oil domestically in 94... would have cost him his job in 96, but we wouldn't be dependent on mid east oil today.

Bush2 could have ENDED easy home borrowing in 2001-2002, and prevented the bubble blast we saw 5 years later... but his ass would have been voted out in 2004, no doubt.

maybe obama honestly believes the jobs will come... but if he doesn't change healthcare, the next repub sure won't.... and in 4 or 5 or 6 years... we'll have half the population without insurance.

Just food for thought.

I dont give a flying fuck if he is looking one year down the road...JOBS COME FIRST plain and simple

stimulus failed, so instead of trying to correct the first step he jumps to step 3 in his agenda?  ::)

heres another thought to pay for the proposed health care bill ppl need to work, you cant tax ppl who dont have jobs so you simply make the current unemployment situation worse

Just food for thought  ::)

Um...he's a douchbag lib. This hypothetical is ridiculous , as Barry has never ever ever done any of this. His record is his record...he's not moving center..he's not giving in to his leftwing wackjob principles...do u still hope this shitbag is any good/ The barry u see is the barry u get. He's worthless on foreign policy and can't get anything done domestically, unless its to further erode this country.
