Arnold Classic Booth Rules by Scott Welsh

From Supplement Genius

I’ve attended almost every Arnold Classic show sine 1997 and have seen it get bigger and bigger and naturally, the rules have got stricter to accommodate the crowds. If you haven’t been yet, picture 100,000 screaming fitness fans jacked up on the latest energizing supplements! There are new rules for companies to follow at this year’s show that will be a real eye opener - especially for supplement companies. I’m told that much of the changes are due to the fact that the actual competitions during the expo feature 15,000 athletes that are under the age of 18. On top of that, there are thousands of other kids that walk the floor with their parents so it’s being looked at as a family event. Here are some of the rules:

■If you’re planning to print signage or apparel, your designs must be submitted to show management prior to the event. Failure to comply may result in removal of your signage and product

■You’re not allowed to disperse literature or products that make reference to steriods or enhancement ability that is related to any illegal substance. No references may be made about enhancement of sexual pleasure, endurance or any product marketed as aphrodisiacs. All literature must be appropriate for a high school and younger audience.

■No catalogs may be distributed that reflect items that are not legal for sale to individuals under the age of 18 in the united states and must follow the laws as set forth by the state of ohio and the state of california. Any “questionable” items must be pre-approved by the promoter prior to the weekend.

■When selecting the attire for your booth staff, the promoter would like to see proposed apparel choices to show management before the show.

■The use of sound amplification and microphones will be monitored electronically! So blaring loud music at is now a no no!

■Booth boundaries – you are required to stay within the designated limits of your booth space. No standing or exhibiting in the aisle space or soliciting throughout the expo hall.

■Absolutely no standing on tables or chairs!

■Giveaways and samples cannot be thrown or tossed from a booth are a into the crowds but rather handed or passed to the attendees from within the exhibitor booth space. Drink samples are to be limited to one serving or less per sample. (one serving = 3 o z.)

■Lines for autographs, pictures and handouts cannot block the walkways or other exhibitors.

■Only items that comply with the laws of the state of ohio and california as well as the FDA can be sold, displayed or advertised at the show in literature or catalogs to be disbursed.

■No ephedra, ephedra derivatives, hormone or hormone related products are permitted at the show!

FINAL NOTE: We will be at The Arnold Classic with a giant 40-foot booth launching a new hardcore bodybuilding magazine that’s gonna turn the industry upside down! Details to come…

Without these rules you get retarded expo's like the Fibo which seems more a striptease & gay club full of trash people than a serious place for promotion.

Oh Dear, after that second video, it's obvious it's high time they had a kind of AA for (gay) steroid junkies.

It's sad, but the way the average European BB/fitness-er is 'presenting' him/herself is more like a prostitute than someone who is promoting the sport.

Never been to any expos or shows her in France. i probably will soon to see what it's like but, true, doesn't look good. I'd rather see supplement salesmen trying to con people. At least, it's your personal choice to buy that shit or not (except for the younger ones maybe). But if that's their idea of what BB and fitness is for, it's half a step away from a porn convention.

You suggest a joint-venture? IFBB/Vivid for example?
