I dont think there should be any drug testing for any job period--- Unless you are clearly fucked up on the job, have some sort of accident, or are working with heavy machinery, driving, flying a plane etc.

What you put into your body on your personal time is your business.

That may be the case, but Kennedy was elected by the people of RI, so in essence they have volunteered to pay for his drug habbit. I don't want government in my life never have and never will, but at some point a line has to be drawn. Welfare was designed to be a hand up not a hand out, so I agree that as far as I'm concerned welfare should be limited for how long a person can collect or just be shit canned all together. I don't really care about how they live their lives per say, but I do have a problem with people abusing the system to get high. It is nothing more than a legal way to steal from your fellow Americans.

As long as you are drug tested to earn your money, welfare recipients should be drug tested to receive your money paid in taxes.

Welfare overhaul – govt. hands over your (there’s that word, again) money to help the first child / existing children of welfare recipients. If you have any more after that, you’re on your own!
If you’re broke, you’re not in any position to expand the size of your family.
So DON'T!

I read about four of these reply's and got sick to my stomach.  Where do some of you guys live where you think that someone should not have to take a drug test to recieve GOVERNMENT HANDOUTS?  I have taken pre employment drug screenings for any job I have.  And I drive a company vehicle, so if some jackass backs into me in a Wendy's parking lot, guess what, I go take a piss in a cup.  And if I piss hot, I am out of a job.  Should be the same for pathetic welfare losers.  There is a Food Lion right near my house, and I wont go there because of what I saw the last time I was there.  A woman who was on her cell phone(had a phone) and was buying similac with a EBT card(guess it's too embarrassing for them to carry food stamps now), paid cash for some cigarettes and blunts.  Now, what I took from that, was she was spending my money on cigs and drugs.  It pisses me off that  these people live in a govt subsidized housing project right down at the oceanfront.  I pay good money to live at the beach, and these people live there for free.  They should bulldoze the houses and make it resort area, so more tax money can be generated.

How pissed are you when somebody on welfare gets arrested for drugs?  I mean, YOU paid for that shit they're shooting up.  It's not like it's some joe blow using his paycheck to buy dope.  No, this cat is sitting at home, getting high off the tax money you pay.  That's some BS right there.  I think you should be willing to take a piss test for ANY free govt money- hell, that should include pell grants and other handouts too.

The government doesn't earn one single penny it spends.
It all comes from our taxes, which translates to those handouts being YOUR MONEY!

It's bad enough they don't have to work to take from you the money you had to work for...
If you do drugs, you're inelgible to earn that money.
They do drugs, don't work, and get yours & every other hard-working American's money for free...
At least make them do some type of community service FFS!

There's a rewards system that gives them a U.S. Treasury check for every baby they have.
If you or I didn't have the money for a larger family, we'd stop having kids.

The best part is - if they do attempt to work, the govt. reduces or stops their monthly checks. They made more not working, and in their eyes, they're actually penalized for trying to work. Well, that's incentive.
They ought to be penalized for not working!!!

Sure, the economy is shit, but if you get a job making $9/hr. we'll chip in some to help you make ends meet.
