Its took 26 years to make another Conan chronicle and this is the fairy that plays the Conan role? The movies are suppose to be an adaptation of the comics and this twink appears nothing like his predecessor or comic book look.....If he stars in it... The Last conan movie ill ever watch was conan the destroyer

I grew up reading comic books and while I knew there was a title called Conan I never read it or really knew anything about him.  I passed on the Conan movies.  Can any of you Conan comic fans sum up his plot line?  For example:

Spiderman: a radioactive spider bites tween Peter Parker.  He gains the ‘powers’ of a spider and fights crime in NYC using his new abilities.

Superman: rocketed to earth as an infant Clark Kent grows up on earth where our yellow sun gives him a range of superpowers he uses to fight crime in Metropolis.

What is Conan’s bio/motivation?  Does his story take place in an alternate reality or on earth... where?  And when... in the present day?  Does he have any powers?  Why is he always shirtless?  Is he a banished king/prince trying to reclaim his throne?  Who are his enemies and why do they want to kill him?  ???

Thulsa Doom killed his father and mother right before his eyes when he was a child, and wiped out his whole cimmerian village.

The revenge and hatred was strong within this one early on, and when he was sold as a slave to a Norse (Swede!s ancestor), the only thing in his mind was revenge on Thulsa.

As he grew older, his body and physique grew as well (due to constant slave-work, working out and eating everything he could find).

When he started to mature, his owner saw his potential (huge size and strength) and used him to fight others in arenas (duels to the death) where he prolly earned quite a bit on Conan.

Later on he also was sent to the East, to breed with the women and get exceptional swordsmanship-training.

After servicing his norse master for many years, he finally earned his freedom and he accomplished his first goal, to become free.

Now he could begin with his Revenge...

His powers are: Thick skull, Huge Strength, Great Swordsmanship, Confidence as well as great Stamina and conditioning. He is also fearless towards human opponents but fear magic.

Have been known to knock out camels with one blow.

Not the fastest or most agile Thief out there, but he changed career from first being a Thief to Mercenary to Bodyguard to Warlord to Destroyer to Commander of Huge Armies and even King in his time.

His first and biggest Motivation: Revenge.

Second, Huge Ambition. If you stand in Conans way, you will be destroyed. He has no respect for authorities/guards/military etc.

If you would ask him what would be best in Life, he would answer this:
To Crush Your Enemies, See Them Driven Before You, And Hear the Lamentation of the WOMEN!

That was the movie version. The comics and books are generally him as a badass that becomes more of a badass, usually through killing dark people. White guy fantasies for the win!
Almost always, yes.

Apparently the final two for the role were Kellan Lutz and him. Jared Padalecki was also considered.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0597388/news#ni1454044

Jason Momoa has been tapped to star in the reboot of “Conan,” the rebirth of the Robert E. Howard-created series. He is a television star who most notable works are “Baywatch: Hawaii” and “Stargate Atlantis.”

Momoa, held off competition from Twilight’s Kellan Lutz and Jared Padalecki for the coveted warrior role. Sources said that director Marcus Nispel (Friday The 13th.) was sold on Momoa, and won over the filmmakers by shooting a few trial scenes that allowed Momoa to wield a sword and behave very Schwarzenegger-like.

Additionally, we hear that Lionsgate have “extended an offer” to Mickey Rourke to play Conan’s father, Codril. No confirmation either way yet, but interesting nonetheless.

“Conan” is scheduled to start production in Bulgaria on March 15. 2010.

Next step must be making Conan female or transvestite. Maybe it would be more believable than this "guy".
