Not true , many times I tell my friends ,don't have kids or don't get married  if you are not ready for it ,and agree with you many people are perfectly  content without a wife and kids.

Your first sentence-"most fullfilling thing i have ever done in my life".  Is this indicative of the main reason you chose to have children?  In other words, you were lacking fulfillment and needed a solution and offspring were it.  Or is this simply hindsight and a by-product that you did not expect?

I had spent my life before getting married and having a family doing what i thought would have fullfilled me, after achieving what i set out to do,and realsing it didn't, i re evaluated my life as a whole. I had found out simply achieving things for myself simply weren't fullfilling me and decided that maybe achieving things that benefit myself and immediate others might be different and in hindsight it is.    


I am curious as to how and why you arrived at your decision if it was or was not out of vanity or if some other area in your life or relationship was lacking or not.

Perhaps it wasn`t even your idea but your companion`s idea and you just went along.  Perhaps a mutual decision?  Can you take us through YOUR process and agreement?

The decision was one taken up by both of us, My wife is the first woman i have been with who i would have had children with, as previously explained, before meeting her, i was living for my own purpose and thus dated women without consideration of a lot of quality's you look for in a wife.      

Go a little bit deeper for us if you may as I am generally curious as to the decision making process.  I hope you are not taking my line of questioning in a negative way.

I always get a real kick out of people who tell me that I'm too selfish when I say that I don't want any kids. I give them a cross eyed look and tell them that choosing to HAVE children is, in fact, the MOST selfish act that anyone can commit. They usually get very defensive/argumentative and that's when I turn and get back to whatever I'm doing.
