Bodybuilding on Television
« on: January 29, 2010, 01:08:21 PM »
Television is really getting bad, around the clock bullshit commercials and noise from trash TV just being pumped into your mind. Thinking of turning my cable off but then no sports to watch. WTF to do? I can get porn on the internet if in need of of jacking off. Who is a big TV fan here and says no?

I have a new HDTV for about 2 years, and have never watched anything other then DVD movies on it, and when it comes to watching REAL AMERICAN FOOTBALL then i just hit up a bar that has the NFL package, Cable or satilite TV is a waste of cash

The main problem is making TV is very expensive. As a result they show lots of commercials, repeat programs over and over again and buy cheap productions for the mainstream audience, etc...
Most frightening thing is that most stations are controlled by advertisers. TV sucks most of the time  :-\

Dont have tv since 10 years now. im always flabergasted at the stupidity of the programs when i have to watch it when i stay at some friend's home. It's like, i cant even stay more than 30 sec watching it and not criticize.

Exactly , most series are very expensive to produce plus to pay talent which is why ' reality ' TV is so prevalent it's cheap to produce and they don't pay a premium because most are just attention whores who would pay to be on TV

I watch very little television.  I would probably watch more of it if I had a Tivo type device (and I’m thinking about getting one) but as much as I enjoyed TV while I was growing up I hardly miss it now.  There is very little quality programming on anymore so what exactly would I be watching if I committed myself to regular viewing?  SyFy, CNBC, HGTV, CNN, and Spike are the only channels I specifically choose on my TV.  The last good program I really enjoyed was Six Feet Under and I only saw it intermittently.

I do have Netflix and enjoy watching movies of my choosing exactly when I want to watch them, but outside of the nightly news or CNN over dinner I do not miss having the tube off.

Maybe it is a lifestyle thing, or a maturity thing, but I can think of several things I would rather be doing than watching television.  I have free cable (don’t ask me how) and I laugh when I hear what people pay to have TV every month.  Paying for internet service or telephone makes sense to me, but paying for television?  Um, no.  :(

Great shows.  I also liked Californication, season 1.  The following seasons not as much.
