Republicans and Fox News don't really like it when People are too smart. They were, after all responsible for "dumbing down America" during the Bush Years. Smart people are a threat. When Obama was "lecturing Republicans" they had to cut away, because they can't have him looking too smart or worse yet, smarter then the Republicans on Television.When ever anything complicated comes on, in the news, they have to turn it over to people like Glenn Beck, or Sean Hannity to put it into the simplest terms possible for the tea baggers to understand.Fox News has been on the anti Intellectual campaign for the nation, because after all, smart people are really just "trouble makers" for the Republican party. do you think the Republicans should just quit talking in complete sentences and just use the key words in their talking points. For example, on health care they can just say 'socialist government takeover' on the meeting 'lecturing and combative'. Since the rest of what they say is useless bull shit

the president finally debating one-on-one with the house republicans on the biggest bill of our lifetime - medicare and social security of our generation - and they cut it off.

Everybody here knows the score. It's history, no matter where you stand on the issuem and they cut away to spoon feed you what will happen.

Obama was off promter and while he agreed to spare with Repubs...he was getting pissed. MSNBC slanted it one way...Fox another. He defended his bullshit. I wish the Repubs had simply said..hey Barry, we can't fucking afford it or u...end it now. Barry isn't coming center, Clinton did ...and he got reelected. 240 u can spin this all u want. Barry didn't come off looking any worse...but he didn't keep calm either. Things will continue as they have been...unless people begin to work...the Dems are out on their ass.

I am not spinning shit... if Obama was getting schooled left and right, FOX would have let it run and then replayed it constantly.

I hate how yall make every since discussion about 240 defending the whole obama administration. I voted barr and you guys voted for that bag of shit and the flake. Obama's policies are mostly crap, but repubs can't seem to capitalize upon cause their own party is split between lib-lite and teabagger.

BTW - I think this type of televised Q&A is exactly what we need in this country.

I want to see both parties and the POTUS talking freely and let's fucking see it unedited and live

Obama did a great job and (IMO) was clearly the smartest person in that room in terms of both policy knowledge and strategy

yet somehow can talk to Republican leaders off the cuff for more than an hour while most of the Repubs had to read their own questions

and he made most of them look like fools

I want to see more of this on TV

this should be in prime time once a month

let's see our the people who are running our government talking for themselves rather than having pundits tell us what they said and what it really means

Obama DOMINATED the repubs. Good on him for wanting it aired on TV. First Pres ever to do so. He came out very well.

I find the hypocrisy of the republican party tough to swallow at times. For example the whole 'we have ideas for health care too'. Oh really? You also had control of the senate and house for a long ass time and never did anything with those so called 'ideas'. In saying this are they acknowledging the faults of their own party in not making this a priority during their period of control? or are they just whining because they lost control and now want to be seen doing something?

Also i think Obama's point on overly critical actions by politicians affects both parties negatively. If they want a partisan government how are they suppose to get it when they tell their supporters Obama's a racist or marxist or not even American? They back themselves into a corner whereby if they ever agree with anything Obama does they are saying to their voters 'i agree with a racist, marxist etc.' Talk about creating a situation that does nothing to help anyone.

KC - I have come to the opinion that Obama secetely hopes the GOP takes back the congress in 2010. Pelosi/Reid are the biggest obstacles to bi-partisanship, since the house GOP cannot work directly with Obama without going through Pelosi.
