Please guys, share some NUMBERS on this one. Is a top 10 Olympia guy earning $2k a month for a contract, or $60k? How much of a gap between a guy like Cutler and a guy who places 3rd at a smaller show? Are there some guys that get NO MONEY, just exposure?

Melvin's gonna be like a man among children at the Phoenix Pro. He should get the 1st and 2nd place checks and let everyone else fight for the rest of the scraps.

I wouldn't say it'll be a blowout... particularly if Melvin is 'coasting' into the Phoenix pro and peaking for the Arnold.

Melvin was on PBW talking about how he's been living at Dennis James house working with DJ for the Phoenix show. Gotta give it up to DJ for letting another dude in his house with his wife and family. I hope they have more than one bathroom!  |

have to agree on this. isnt dj daughter a teenager? dude would be living in doghouse. we could train and all but you aint chillin at the crib like that. anyway...
i know the anthony lovers will come to defend him. it's principles...so nothing to depend. MF cant be livin in crib with wife n teen girl.

I'm curious if agreements like this exist in other pro sports... can Peyton manning do interviews with high school newspapers or random call-in radio shows ? Can he openly post on Indy Colts fan forums? Or is he locked into certain magazines, radio shows, networks, etc?

I think Mel has known Dennis and his daughter since she was a toddler. That would be some sick shit, but hope he would'nt do something like that. |

I hope they have more than one bathroom! Mel and Dennis have been friends for a while, I think before the 98 USAs that Dennis beat him at, and that could ave gone either way. In Melvin's vid "Marvelous", which shows Mel winning his 1999 USA title, Dennis was there at backstage and was part of Mel's supporters. And actually Melvin looked his best at that show. |

i remember long ago,,,poor melvin lost usa;s and want to qit bbing dennis talked to him about coming to thailand to do gayforpay i mean guest posing,,,he got 2000 dollars mevlin was so happy he hug dj,,so long ago another story dj go to movies and snores o much he build home theatre in home he has 101inch tv, lovesac couches,,,,,he fall aslep watching at home now

Thanks for the explanation regarding the publication contracts .
It was a very interesting show to say the least, especially how some body builders felt the publication contracts held them back , in " the business of bodybuilding ". I really never thought a contract could be seen as a negative, but thanks to your round table discussion, it's much clearer now.
Also, please try to have Melvin on again, he was really entertaining , while still delivering great content.
