a few cool ideas for the ufc octagon
« on: February 01, 2010, 06:27:10 PM »
the octagon has alot of potential, but as it is its a little boring

here are a few cool ideas to spruce up the ufc fights:
1) an electric fence  :D
-the cage wires will have a low voltage current running during the fight. this will "encourage" fighters to not hold on to the cage or grab it with they toes like i see in some fights when the ref warns them. it will also make randy couture style strategies of pushing your opponent up against the cage more useful and painful for the opponent.

2) this will require a more advance technology, but it is possible...
seal the octagon and make it a zone of zero-gravity!  :D
this will make for some cool fights because fighters wont be restricted by only one plane of motion.

any other ideas??  :D

Are you fucking seriously retarded!!?!... you can't turn off gravity anywhere on this earth, for training NASA astronaut's use swimming pools or fly up in a cargo jet and do a parabolic arc to create temporary weightlessness..there is no other way..

oh, i thought they had already invented it...  :-[

how about what the skydivers train on, when they shoot the air up from the floor at a high speed?

it wouldnt be a weightless match, but we'd get to see who was the best fighter under a peculiar circumstance: falling out of a plain at 13000 feet lolol

ummm yes it is.

herschel walker's opponent (Greg Ng) was grabbing the cage with he's toes and the ref warned him several times that he had to stop.

strikeforce's cage is so cool b/c its so small. they must feel like caged beasts in there.
ufc octagon has too much room for scared fighters to run around and stall

That's actually one thing the UFC said it was going to look into about a year ago (making the cage smaller to incite action) but I don't think they ever went through with it.. personally I wish it was smaller, I hate when half the fight is guys circling each other 'feeling' each other out, there should be a guy with a cattle prod behind each fighter, if they start lagging just give them a little zap to wake them up.

i kinda like the initial "feeling out" period, it builds anticipation for the first exchange
i could hardly breath during ufc 107 mir vs. kongo
i new that fight would end early and the first exchange would probably determine the victor

LOL, that was a long fight...

that was the beauty of that matchup
i thought either could win but i new the loser was going to get destroyed
both fighters are capable of really hurting they opponents as we've seen in the past

the worst are the matchups that you know will go to a decision (like forrest vs. tito)

You push your opponent into the cage to shock him?  So how do you keep the charge from going through him and entering your body as you are holding him against the cage?  Helloooooooo Mcfly..............

Why not just put a shock collar on each fighter and when action slows a "special referee" can zap them to jump start the action.

This has already been done before, eclectic as well as electric fences, zero-g gravity, tag team MMA-fights etc...

Give the fans in the front row pellet rifles and let them shoot them in the ass when they just want to stand there.
