French Laundry!!! Damn! You go first class! I was in the Napa area for a couple of weeks and have friends in the wine business but even with their help, I couldn't get a reservation during the time we were there.
I hear it's great! Can you provide some dining details about that place?
To be honest with ya all, I have 'fine dined' in most of the better dining spots in Las Vegas and enjoyed each of them but I still prefer the simple meals served at Ellis Island ... a small and unimpressive, Las Vegas locals casino on Koval Lane one block east of the Strip.
Bad atmosphere, mediocre service, but the food is always excellent. And nothing on the menu if over $13. And their home-brewed been and generous cocktails start at $1 and top off at $3.
It's almost impossible to spend more than $40 for a party of two in this place.
But if you want the best of the best - try Michael's which used to be in the Barbury Coast but is now in the South Point. But bring a heavy wallet!
The most expensive restaurant I've seen in LV is Joël Robuchon's in the MGM Grand, Las Vegas where fixed priced dinners started at $350 per person but ran much higher once you started ordering the 'extras'.
I do recall a restaurant in the Orient a few years back with a $1,200 US price-tag on the menu, but we simply had a couple of drinks and departed for an inexpensive Kobe Beef joint down the street which turned out to be one of the finest steak dinners I've ever had.
I don't think you can find a REAL Kobe Steak in any US restaurant anymore. They may say it is, but it really ain't!
