what you forget is that even if people overran the country tomorrow, there wouldn't be some beautiful Philadelphia new govt creation, of the people.

No, our enemies worldwide would set up bases to 'prevent the threat of terrorism' and confiscate US resources, land, etc overnight.  Without the govt you hate to protect you, chinese and ruskie soldiers would be doing door to doors in the name of 'liberating us' and 'keeping us safe'.

I think that's what so many armchair revolutionaries forget.  Russian subs would be docking in Miami the minute our govt wasn't there.  China would be claiming Cali for debt, etc.  It would be a race to split shit up.  They wouldn't just 'chill' while whoever took over decided what to do with the nuke football haha...

So there will never be any '1776' again.  Deal with it.  Work within the system we have - run for office, campaign for those who match your ideals, etc.  We all know that "revolt" just means we'll see some domestic terrorists getting blown the fvck up on our local cable news, with hannity and Olbermann labeling them as nutjobs, and obama getting more power as a result.  No revolt.  Deal with it and work within the confines of reality to fix shit legally.

A republic,which was the initial form our government took, is a representative government.  In the United States, people were NEVER supposed to get the power to choose their president.  Andrew Jackson was the FIRST time it ever happened to where the people voted for their president.
