 When hannity talked about Phelps and company on his show a while back. He wanted to rant about it, but he had to avoid exposing the actual ideology of his subject, because phelps is ultra-right wing  with his god-based hatred for gays. hannity did every subtle thing he could think of to imply they were left leaning, in the knowledge that his simple-minded listeners would get it wrong.

No, Phelps used to be a civil rights attorney arguing on behalf of African Americans and he's actually run for the Democratic party (unsuccessfully).  The reality is, they are neither left nor right, just wacked.
