There is no "albacore around the neck" goin' on here.
My guy is a good guy & he loves the music business. The band is going to sign & record with a new label out of Nashville March 9th-12th. I got his back.......
I hate to be the bearer of bad news again...but I don't think you understand the term 'label' a 15 year old can start his own music 'label' it's basically a corporation, you register it with the business bureau...
when I talk to musicians regarding labels there are only 5 or 6 **REAL** legit labels in existence,
again when I say label, I mean a RECORD label that has a 20-40 bands on it's roster, can afford to press 500,000 copies of an album, pay for art work, distribution, royalties, etc.
So, to recap: REAL label = sony, BMG, EMI, Warner, Atlantic, Columbia
bullshit label run out of guy's closet = F n A records (whatever the hell that is)
Signing with a **REAL** major label basically gives you the right (label pays) to record 2-3 albums and you get an advance of aprox. $100,000 per member of the band, sometimes more sometimes less.
just a FYI.
