paris's build was exceptional,,the only thing is it looked so good relaxed or in classic poses,that when he hit traditional poses like lat spread or ab shot it lost its look .his muscle didn't have that pop look not like it needed to cause he wasn't known for that ,but it wouldn't have hurt either.

Paris had a long torso and a sucky shoulder to waist ratio. Still a great physique but not even close to Nubret.

This was the physique, I always wanted to obtain.When I was 16 years I remember seeing Tony Atlas on TV and I was shocked on how muscular and defined he was.I met Tony when I was 18 in person at George Eifermans gym and he was the nicest guy you could ever meet.Plus he had a beautiful wife.I thought to myself, this guy has it all, a good build success, and a hot girl.
Tony Atlas is the reason why I started lifting weights.
Today, I still talk to Tony on Occasion, but he has been really busy lately.
Tony won the Mr USA title 3 times, and won numerious powerlifting events.
The guy was massive ,lean and strong.He was the one to told me, big weiights= big muscle.
His real name is Anthony White.

In my opinion, Nubret was the best by far. I had the opportunity of interviewing Serge over a three hour period while sitting on the sea-wall in Venice when he was in top shape and hsve to state that he was/is a true gentleman within the world of bodybuilding,

He spoke his mind with complete honesty and no hostility but once that  interview was over and we listened to the tape, we both agreed that it would be best not to publish it.

Also saw Paris in top condition when he won his contest in San Jose, Cal (USA or Nationals?) and he is among the best of the best of all time in my opinion.

Mendenhall was and is a good friend and I place him up there too.

Also saw Priest at his best and he was unbelievable too.

I've either met or worked with 90% of the top pros throughout the years and the above were among the most impressive.

Also Reeves when he was a young guy but definitely not as massive as any of the above.

          atlas had a great upper body and maybe the best back ever , if only he brought his legs up.

Funk Tony had bigs legs, its just his uppper body over powered them.Tony was Like Arnold, he lacked the outer sweep and the leg density that bodybuilders today have.If you look at Arnolds legs, they were not as big his upper body.
All the guys except Sergio Olivia, had legs that by todays standards would be small
Tony's Atlas's measurements were 6'2" 280lbs at his peak, 23 1/2" arms, a 30" waiste, and 31 " thighs.
He was 6'2" so being tall does make it more difficult to make your legs look bigger.Bodybuilding is all illusion.
Arnold had one of the best physiques, but by todays standards he would be that big and his legs would be lagging.
Now if Arnold had the equiptment and the anabolics they have today he would have been another Ronnie Coleman only white

Some great physiques in this thread, Bodybuilding at its finest when guys had to be complete at lower bodyweights,it was more of a sport back then than a science experiment instead of just craming the mgs and ius into them to outgrow their weaknesses and shoot the shit out of everything, they had to adapt training,not that they dont now but Bodybuilding has gone down hill since the introduction of HGH and insulin thats for sure, guys are bigger and rounder, but they dont have the seperation of days gone by.

Nubret all the way.  Arnie?  Come on.  He's great but he got the win because white guys sold more products than black guys for Uncle Joe.  He did a great job of capitalizing on his fame and becoming very successful, certainly leaving Nubret in the dust in that regard.

But for physique, Nubret pwns.  Sad he wasn't given his due in his day but the truth is plain.  I dare anyone to post an Arnie/Serge comparison that shows otherwise.
