Is that San Fran? I passed up a chance of living there. That City along with San Diego, L.A., and Mission Vallejo are stuck up their own asses. Cal Berk was nice but there are way tooooo many hippies and tree lovers. I take the Cartman approach when it comes to San Fran.  ;D

It's 27 degrees in Ann Arbor right now.  It's 56 degrees in San Francisco.

The choice is yours...    :)

Sarasota Bay is my gulf coast haunt... but Bradenton is cool too.  Why are you steering people toward Michigan?  I'd rather be unemployed in FL than employed in Michigan. :D

Yea, i like Holmes Beach and SIESTA KEY!! I found that job posting on Mgogblog.com and thought that it was funny because Michigan is "suppose" to have the best strength training staff in the nation.  ::) :o I have friends that are unemployed here and one friend that went to Norte Dame and majored in Business and works at a 7-11 on Cortez Road....That stunned me.  ::) He is a Cashier too.  ::) :o

Alas, that is not surprising a degree and a drive to succeed are not the same thing.  It’s nice to have both, but the former does not guarantee the latter.  Remember this guy?

Yea, i get that but the thing is he is actually a smart guy. I know that he can "Barely make rent." Norte Dame is a good school and he could atleast try to be a DM or something. I just do not understand why you would go to college and get a good degree from a great school and ring people up at 7-11. I drop in on him and buy some water/drinks  or whatever and say, "Ya know, put that degree to use and get the hell out of 7-11."

Your friend is obviously comfortable.  There is nothing you can do about that so why let it concern you?  Even if he complains, he is obviously not unhappy enough to change his lot in life.  And the world does need people to work at 7-11; he has chosen to be that person.  So be it.

There is a reason why so many immigrants (legal and illegal) come here with nothing and are so successful.  They know what real deprivation is like—most Americans do not.  If they wanted to sit around and do nothing, they could have stayed in their own country and done that.  They risked life and limb to come to the USA because they are highly motivated to better themselves and improve their lot in life—if not for themselves then for their children.

I am always amused when I hear American citizens complain or otherwise express resentment toward successful immigrants.  I suspect your friend will be voicing similar complaints in the not too distant future. :-[

He already does Bay. He is not my friend but when i came into the store once, "He was like you like Michigan" I was like, "Yea, i was born in the dorm room on the campus of Michigan and a Alumni." So, we just chatted it up about sports and when i found out that he went to Norte Dame and graduated with honors and working at 7-11....i was just trying to sway him to a better profession. He is a friend because i would like to see him do better in life and to go to a great academic institution and not even use your degree, C'MON MAN.  8) I thought that he was comfortable but he is always complaning about money, immigration, car problems, work,...etc

Being a University S&C coach is a TOUGH job with little pay but if the team is successful the recognition throughout the S&C community is invaluble and worth a fortune when you retire.

I was at USC every Friday for better than half of last season and their weight room isn't exactely state of the art, holes in the ceiling, rain coming in like a water fall, big trash cans where the water is coming in and 10-20 year old equipment!
