The IFBB's contest schedule is finally set to begin and PBW kicks off "Phoenix Week" on Monday with an expanded event preview. With a lineup that includes 4 men fresh off the Olympia stage, the inaugural Phoenix Pro will crown the first champion of 2010. Troy Alves = Old and over-rated. All these guys are just hanging on.

Let's be honest with ourselves... the old guys are the "names" but it's the young bucks who will steal the show.

Was thinking the same thing. From looking at these lineups, seems like more of the same men competing, and not that many big names coming up thru the ranks outside of Heath and Kai. A bunch of over 40's still the big names. $:-\$

maybe it takes new guys longer to get prepared for shows than it used to. Jumping from winning pro card to winning the arnold classic just can't happen anymore - even for a genetic wonder like Heath.... he's what, 4 years into a pro card and still hasn't won it. how many AC wins did Flex Wheeler have, 4 years into his career?

Holy shit. They were on PBW tonight talking about how 2 years ago Branch Warren was getting beat by dudes like Farah and Darrem Charles and now he's #2 behind Cutler. Pretty awesome Branch! Thats like if Jonny Jackson were to jump to 2nd at next years Olympia. Mad Respect!

The top 10 bodybuilders are much better than the top ten 15-20 years ago. Which makes it much harder for new guys to be successful early.
