China won more Gold medals because their strategy was to focus on individual medals and on events that America was weak on,ie the events nobody gives a shit about. They already have said publicly that they can't take out the black athletes. And you saw what happened to that Chinese hurdler, he faked a injury because he knew his as was gonna be smoked by the Cuban dude. He knew his time was fluke, and he couldn't handle the pressure of losing in front of his country.

Also the US teams were on "power down" status, due to the steriods issue, whereas other countries were maintaining their "power on" or "power up" status.
