a pound of kale greens is only 99 cent a pound

a large 13 serving package of beans is like 1.50

I cleaned up my diet last month, and since i did i'm basically spending twice as much on food as i did before.

I think it's purely down to the fact i'm buying more meat. Good meat don't come cheap.

i bought 5lb of fresh chicken breast for 10 bucks yesterday.  2 big macs at macdonalds would cost more than that.

It's not cheaper to eat fast food. I don't know where you get your numbers. You can easily fix 3 decent meals for the price of an average combo meal at a fast-food restaurant.

A Pound of Ground Turkey cost less than $2. You can get a bag of rice for a dollar (or less). And, a can of veggies will run you $0.75 (less if you get the "Great Value" brand from Wal-Mart).

You can get AT LEAST two meals out of that, with all of the aforementioned items totaling less than $4.

Fast food may be cheaper short-term, but long-term think of the preventable healthcare costs that accumulate - especially with all the fat kids & teenagers running (er, waddling) around  :(

Yes he advises the government on how to grow everything.  he also has a degree from Old Macdonalds Farm University. Plus I heard he is quite friendly with the farm animals

I spend as much on food eating 7 clean meals a day as people I know spend on 1 fast food meal.
