It's funny you say that James, after having such a warm decade 2011-2020 is likely to be cooler than the one we just had. That is the prediction anyway, it's all apart of the climate change, swings back and forth but with a predominant warming trend when looked at as a whole. Like the stimulus it can't be judged on one year, one decade etc it's the information as a whole that shows what's happening.

If it's cooler in the north then it won't be as bad in NYC, it's when the north is warm that the cold air comes down through the atlantic states and central europe, much like this winter, instead of being further north and barely touching those places. TA for all his flack he gets, posted a good youtube on it. I'm happy the snow levels (where i frequent) have been very poor this decade compared to decades past. I need deep snow and an abundance of it, not just one month good, two months average, one month terrible stuff.

I've said many times Al Gore isn't a scientist and i don't listen to him, never watched his film, don't plan on it either. There are some people within the UN IPCC who are less than scrupulous guys, some scientists even acknowledge that but that does not discredit the majority of great work being done by guys who work their ass off and have no vested interest other than a pure love of science and finding out the truth. So please cut the bullsh*t attacks on the majority of scientists and save it for the Al Gores.

You're trying to group millions of scientists into some sort of global conglomerate of climate change with a major financial interest involved and that is just not the truth. You are smarter than this but perhaps today you are not the sharpest tool in the shed. I will once again point you towards a short history of nearly everything, it's a great scientific book and will introduce you to a lot of new ideas. Heck it even talks about ice ages, the climate of earth and so on.
