I like the commentators- They have the uncanny ability to make two shit fighters sound like hall of famers. Rogan really knows his shit, and while Goldberg obviously knows jack shit about fighting, he always has energy and is at least getting better in terms of knowledge/ understanding.
However, Pride was 1000000x better than the UFC. Not saying I don't like the UFC now, because I do-- but imo the UFC isn't a pimple on prides ass.
Bigger arenas with more fans, huge gawdy enterances (Sakuraba coming out dressed as a super mario brother against Randleman), better commentators (Bas is better than Rogan and Goldberg combined)-- the fighters had more personality, guys that are old and washed up fighting in the UFC were in their primes in Pride, etc. etc.
One thing I also miss from Pride is the whole international perspective. Pride seemed to have that country versus country+ martial art versus martial art mentality. Nothing compares to Sakuraba taking on the whole Gracie family, Fedor against Noguerra or the other classic battles of style and country.
I still like the UFC, but to me Pride is on another level.
