Broke my personal best benching again
« on: February 21, 2010, 11:56:30 AM »
I'm benching now twice a week - Tuesday is more or less normal strenght training
And Sunday its all about fun and trying to challenge myself.

Felt good again today so I worked my way up to 110 (231lbs) kg - and since I cleared that one easy I went straight for a 120 kg (264lbs) and low and behold cleared it - not easy but I reached the first part of my quest to bench 6 wheels.

I also had an awesome spotter - very concentrate and knew what he was doing didn't lift the weight off but slight it off so I still had my shoulders detracked and didnt loose the tightens of the back - he deffianlty knew what he was talking about even corrected the way I laid on the bench once.

I'm extremly happy right now with myself - never thought I would be able to lift that weight natural - if I remember a year ago I couldnt lift 100kg if my life depended on it now it even looks like I be able to lift my life goal one day.

Again I am sure that all my getbig brothers will laught at my feeble attempts but I am extremely happy :D

little shy of 6f - I have long arms unfortunalty which doesn't help but I learned to have a very wide grip, I also recently learned to
slight the bar off let it rest do a little twist with my hands so I dont flare out the arms so I use more my triceps (which are bigger then my biceps anyways) and dont use my shoulders that much.

What is amazing is - there is this personal trainer in my gym - guy looks about 45 years old but I am sure he's a little younger but uses the sunbed a lot.
I dont like him a lot since hes always running around with super tight shirts (but he is fucking ripped like crazy).
So a couple of weeks ago I was looking around for somebody to spot me and we was seriously the only one that looked like he could spot me propperly the rest of the guys were seriously either skinny or looked unfit.
So I walk over when he finished a set and asked him politly if he mind spotting me and was...
Oh maaan, everybody asks me to spot - I have my training time... ah never mind never mind come on lets do it only once ok?
And I said: Mate no problem I don't want to break your training its okay I find somebody else
An he said: No no let go lets do it only once.
So I get in the propper benching position with the arched back (I really think I have it correctly now) he looks at me like I am crazy...
So I take the weight of and rep out 6 with 100kg.
Then rack the weight and he starts giving me this long ass preach of how I should put my feet up (not down to the ground as planting into the ground) but actually up.  :o :o
I just let it go and siad thanks for the advice and off he went.
So today he was watching me I just ignored him...fucking old cunt :D

Good job. I hope your shoulders can take the wide grip. I have healthy shoulders but just like the close grip much more. Brings dat dere tricep pump.  :P How does your regular training look like?

Google must be lying then ;)

I have changed my training this year - its a lot of fun lifting as in simple things like - holding 2 20kg plates as long as possible - I like the preacher curl and hold 2 10kg plates and one 5kg plate with two hands (which is awkward) and do precher hammer curls.
I'm just a little sick of the usual go to workout do the same thing over and over again so I am training a lot for strenght.
What is funny is that I also stopped having a very very strikt diet, before I was eating salmon and fish for weeks now I just eat what ever I have and leave out the worse food like gravy and stuff but I still mentain my weight and don't gain fat at all.
Maybe thats what I needed all along.

next I will get me a pair of farmers walks and some weights, I have a football team train in the back of my house - there is a rugby field and I want to train there for strength as well, also I have ordered a good rope for pulling a car :D

If you believe 10kg = 33 lbs, in that case I'm 346 lbs (105 kg).  ::)

Damn, I feel huge suddenly!

My goal for this year is to be able to bench 315lb (maybe 2-3 sets of 5) and to be able to run for 10 miles (run without stopping) at about 6.0 (should take 1 hour and 40 min).

Nice lifting Stark - I'm assuming of course you're natural but 264lbs for a single isn't too bad at all.
