I remember the first time someone reasoned to me the desire to invade Iraq was because Saddam was responsible for 911. I laughed. I thought he was playing the clown. I couldn't fathom that people actually believed that. Over the next few months, I came to realize that many Americans did infact believe that. {sigh}
There is no real chance or hope for democracy in the face of an ignorant illinformed populace.
"Anyone who has the power to make you believe absurdities, has the power to make you commit injustices," --VoltaireWow, it never ceases to amaze me everytime I see something like this in action.
As an MLM training exercise, my friend Earl went out in the streets of Dallas with a bunch of new MLM signups, and tried to give away $50 bills. No one would take them. It was wild, but it's always very powerful eye-opening exercise that's invalueable in assisting new MLM'ers to understand the mindset of the general populace, and to keep the proper perspective. When you repeatedly encounter such ignorance, it can sometimes make you 2nd guess yourself, ...especially in times of adversity. I can't believe people are so incredibly ignorant about Canadian Maple Leaf Gold coins though. If you were given a choice between a Maple Leaf Gold coin, and an American gold coin, ...take the Canadian Maple leaf each time. It's a purer gold and there's more of it, ...and it easily liquidatable anywhere in the world. Far more easily than the US Gold coin.
In 1994, I was in an MLM called "The 3rd Dimension", ...and our remuneration was in Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coins.
It was sweet. We'd be shipped gold coins, but being Canadians, and being issued legal tender gold coins, we could legally claim $50 in compensation times however many coins we received per week, ...but we'd sell them to the coin dealers for a little over $500 each. It was sweeeeeet!
I'm depressed now.
