MICHIGAN - RR and his last year at MICHIGAN - MY TAKE
« on: February 24, 2010, 10:28:30 PM »
First....let me say that 9 wins and a bowl might be a stretch but someone wanting asking for that shouldn't be told to shut the fuck up by any means. DickRod has been given passes all this time.

1st season = He's trying to bring in a new system and doesn't have a QB. 3-9 the result. Acceptable because next season will be better

2nd season = He's got his QB and the offense is productive more so than last year against teams that didn't go bowling. The defense takes a turn for the worse and their is no progression by the offense as the season goes on against poor defenses. Excuses are made that G Rob is bringing in his new scheme, bad weather caused a couple losses, Carr left the cupboard bare etc. 5-7 the result. Semi - acceptable because of half truths

Offseason issues = Of course having your own alum having it out for you from the get go isn't a good thing to deal with and these "big violations" coming down on the school are done by virtually every program......you still got caught. Even if two of the infractions are mere minutes over the alloted time, should have known that it was going to be an issue so don't come out lying during the offseason saying you didn't make any infractions when you clearly known that you did. However, if you didn't then lets open the books back to WVU because the same exact thing was going on there because DickRod is the one that brought it to Michigan in the first place. Everyone should be held to the same standards that Michigan is being made an example of so everytime someone says "I practiced to hard at FU" then the school needs to be looked at. Whether he knew he fucked up or not it's unacceptable......howeve r, it's not near as bad as what people are making it out to be. Enough grounds here for a solid warning....fuck up once...shame on you. Fuck up twice.....you're out on your ass.

That brings us to the third season. No more excuses. You have your QB's and they have experience. This is what you came here to do. Put 40 + on the board and no less than 4 scores against top D's. Anything less is considered a failure. Your defense has a year under GRob and he is taking over the LB's. GRob is your hire. You have two classes all to yourself plus another that was started by Carr and finished by the new staff. UConn, ND, UMass, Bowling Green, Indiana, Illinois are your 6 that you cannot miss. That leaves 2-3 wins over MSU, Purdue, OSU, Wisky and Iowa. Anything less than that simply won't meet expectations and likely he'll be shown the door.

Second.....personally, even if he just makes it to a bowl game with 7 wins I'd be willing to give him one more year. I won't be happy, but it would buy him another season. .500 or below I'm asking for his fucking on a spit. No questions asked they SHOULD be 5-0 heading into MSU who they have at home. If they can't get to 7 with fucking Purdue and Illinois still on the schedule then fuck this guy......he'll never get it done. I also want at least one or more wins over the Big 4. Wisky, OSU, Iowa or PSU. I don't give a flying fuck who it is......one will make me happy. The thing that worries me if he gets 7-8 he'll still be on thin ice. What are they going to do and who would they hire? They already lost their shot with Brian Kelly. Bring in "Michigan Man" Les Miles? FUCK THAT. Bringing in another coach will only lead to more excuses of why Michigan is playing like shit and rebuilding. We, as fans, shouldn't have to watch this shit again because frankly the past two years has lasted enough for a lifetime considering the joke that has been displayed on the field.

It's time to get shit done....get it done now. No excuses....you lose it's because you were outcoached and outplayed. No more putting the blame on ex coaching, the weather, or lack of offensive players.

Third.....these infractions are not near as bad as what people are making them out to be. Prohbation is certain followed up by maybe some cut practice time, limits as to what the fuck did they call the extra coaching staff....eh, name escapes me. Anyway, lack of what they can do or appear at and probably a loss of 2-3 scholarships a year for 3 years. That will apease the NCAA, make the DickRod haters happy and give the rivals something to jizz over by making an example out of UM not to over practice which frankly I find all this to be some of the dumbest shit I've seen a school get in trouble for but the rules were there...you broke them....pay for it and be done with it.

It's great watching one of the most overrated programs in history finally get recognized for what it is. Next up, Ohio State.

You do not even know what happened. TRUTH. I would not even wish that upon any school and not even O$U. Alabama and F$U had the same thing happen last year. U$C has cheated for sooooo long but they will get a slap on the wrist but it nice to see how much everyone hates us.  :-*

The infractions....LOL 1. PLayers worked 15 minutes more per day than allowed... 15 minutes of stretching (no joke) 2. Quality Control guys sat in coaches meetings which they weren't allowed to do, altho they are to allowed to NOW. 3. Main thing was they didn't fill out the CARA practice logs - and they already fired ...one of the guys responsible for not telling RR about them. He never had to fill them out at WVU.
4. Oh how can I forget RR punished players for skipping summer classes. Apparently that is a infraction during summer (no joke).

5. Oh and one of the grad assistants I believe didnt fully cooperate with the NCAA. Not RR, but one a Grad Assistant

I'm not talking about the infractions. Michigan is just not a top 5/10 football program anymore. They won't be in the foreseeable future, either.

My problem with Michigan is that the program has been nothing short of mediocre since '98 (much like Ohio State) and yet they're always hovering in the top of the polls....only until they get embarrassed by some mediocre team down the line and then their season falls apart. The Big 10 is the most overrated conference in the country and all the programs in there should be treated as such.

Those two years of watching OSU get embarrassed in the title game almost turned me off of college football completely.

My biggest pet peeve about MICHIGAN is most of the fans or Alumni act like they are above everyone.

I am a alumni and i know that the Big 10 has been a huge embarrassment. The fans are still holding onto the fact that we are the only school to beat Tebag in his own back yard.

I have never liked RR and my whole family are WVU fans and i cannot stand watching that offense. The players come to MICHIGAN because of the Helmets and that has always irked me.  >:(

RR is recruiting thugs out of the SEC states and he is recruiting kids that Florida take in.  >:(

One of the problems with college football now is that coaches like RR are given free reign to do what they want. He recruited thugs at WVU and he's doing the same at Michigan. And they're hit or miss. If he can land a few solid guys with decent personalities like a Steve Slaton or Pat White then he wins for a few years. However, those guys are few and far between given where he recruits from.

He won't win at Michigan and the next coach won't either. The Big 10 just doesn't have the athletes to compete with the other conferences. And I'm not referring to just the SEC athletes. Speed's the name of the game right now and the Big 10 is just not known for it.

RR is getting the same players that Florida wants and he basically recruits out of Pahokee, Florida and they have put out Antwan Boldin, Sean Taylor and numerous other NFL players. RR is getting players from the south because the south produces "Athletes" and not WR'S, RB'S, QB'S, DB'S and Offensive Linemen.....He will not win at MICHIGAN and he was doomed to fail from the beginning. MICHIGAN will go after Jim Harbaugh and that is the truth.

I'd punnish them by making them play Boise, WKU, Kent , Akron and  Houston all on the road. No tv.   And no Catawba on their schedule.

I did not want them to take on Appy State but i wonder how we lost to them and beat Florida in Florida.  :o I still get people giving me excuses as to why Florida lost to MICHIGAN with the great Tim Tebag at the Helm.  ;D

App State is good enough to win the Conf usa, MAC, and Sun Belt but too poor to get on ABC.  Michigan just met the wrong team at the wrong time. It could have happened to Florida that year!

I wondered if they were even ready for the spread but then they go and beat Florida....I believe that we are 25-2-2 all time against SEC teams

We still hold the overall record but Rodriguez has one year to save his job. David Brandon was not pleased when he was hired and he is pissed now. David played under BO and this will not be accepted.  >:( I look for Harbaugh to come back after this year.  :o

I know someone had asked if the recruits were worried about the NCAA investigation, or not. At the time, I said that I hadn't talked to anyone that was worried about it.

In the past two days, I've talked to three recruits that brought it up to me. They are concerned about it, mostly because they don't really understand what it means. Who they are isn't really relevant.

One of them just wanted to know if it would have any effect on future bowl games. The biggest concern that I have is that one of them mentioned that their parents didn't like it at all. I'm sure the coaches will have time to do damage control, but it's hard to change parent opinions on things.

I just thought I'd keep you guys updated. Don't freak out about it, because they're having the same reaction as we all did, "What's going to happen now?" It will play itself out.

IF they get in trouble, it won't be annything near SMU's punishment.  Maybe borderline Alabama's though.  As for SC, I won't care   they've had a nice run for a good 8 yrs ....winning isn't as fun as some think. I miss the days (80's) when SC could lose 5 games and still make the Rose Bowl. The National title was never in their minds.
