It's his fault for not tapping soon enough, and most fighters don't let go when the opponent taps.  They wait for the referee to notice the his/her opponent is tapping and then they wait for the ref to declare the contest over.  If you don't, you run the risk of letting go before the ref sees it and blowing a win.

Lytle did nothing wrong. This is the real deal. You go 100% until the guy taps or the ref calls it.
He is young...I am sure he learned his lesson. Being a 'tough-guy' and not tapping is stupid in most cases unless it is a choke.

Chris Lytle Is the Most Exciting Fighter in the UFC. That's according to the stats, which show that Chris "Lights Out" Lytle (28-17-5) has won the most 'Fight Night' bonuses in UFC history. He may have not be the best UFC fighter out there, heck, he may not even win half of his UFC fights (He's 7-9), but Lytle's crowd pleasing style has netted him 7 bonuses in his last 8 UFC fights, which has earned him a grand total of $310,000.

According to a couple of fighters that I treat in my clinic, they would prefer to have a broken arm rather than tap (these are brazilian guys).  They have no problem going the "lights out" road either.  Some of them say that the schools they have trained at are sometimes more brutal than the actual fights themselves.

Yes I agree. Respect in #1 priority in many of these schools, but purely stupid when fighting is the way you pay your bills/support your family.

What is the nature of Foster's injury?  I haven't heard anything about it since the night of the fight.  How bad is he hurt?
