I wasn't very fond of it at all. Right from the getgo, there was something incongruous about the boatride.
it was so blatantly obviously shot in chromakey. There didn't seem to be much if any realism from the start.
over the years, I've come to enjoy Leonardo DiCaprios work and have found him fresh in every role he's taken. For some reason, I found his performance to be rather affected, and I couldn't help but see the kid in "What's eating Gilbert Grape". I found the story line hard to follow at times, and wasn't at all fond of the pacing. I was bored at certain points...almost nodding off. It only got really interesting during the conversation at the lighthouse. I knnow I need to see it again, ...but for the past week, I haven't been able to bring myself to watch it again. It seems like an overwhelmingly daunting thing to do.

Beach is absolutely correct about the ending. It did get a bit predictable towards the end.
As wonderful a director as Martin Scorcese is, ...for this particular genre... M. Night Shamalyan owns it.
