Its Official...James Toney has signed to fight in the UFC

He will get destroyed as soon as it hits the ground  ;D

41-year-old boxing champ James Toney signs multi-fight agreement with UFC
by MMAjunkie.com Staff on Mar 03, 2010 at 4:50 pm ET
Sometimes trash talkers get what they want.

After berating UFC president Dana White on several media outlets in recent months, 41-year-old boxing champion James Toney (72-6 Boxing, 0-0 MMA) has reportedly signed a multi-fight agreement with the Las Vegas-based promotion.

The report was issued Tuesday by FiveOuncesOfPain.com citing sources close to negotiations, and MMAFighting.com's Mike Chiappetta has since confirmed the deal after speaking to White.

Toney, the current NABO and IBA heavyweight champion, pitched himself to White before cameras following UFC 108 in January and afterward blasted the UFC president for what he considered a "laughable" offer to fight in the octagon.

Ever since, Toney has taken every opportunity to challenge White for a contract.

"Dana White is a straight up ho!" Toney told Fighthype.com this past week. "He makes me a five-fight offer for chump change and said I can't box anymore if I accept it. He must have lost his damn mind."

It appears talks have brightened considerably since then.

At least one UFC fighter will welcome Toney into the cage.

"I think a lot of people would pay to see that," UFC heavyweight contender and "The Ultimate Fighter 10" winner Roy Nelson recently told Steve Cofield of Yahoo! Sports.

A timetable for Toney's debut is unknown at the time of this writing. Requests to the UFC for comment by MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) were not immediately answered.

The 41-year-old Toney's most recent fight was this past September when he defeated Matthew Greer by TKO in a boxing match. Prior to that, he defeated Fres Oquendo for the vacant NABO and IBA heavyweight belts.

Toney is a hot mess trying to get paid.

Only thing i'm interested in seeing(hearing) is his post fight win or lose with Joe.....his out of nowhere lines are an all time classic. LOL

Hopefully they won't put a total chump in the octagon with him. I think they should pull Tank out of retirement to fight him....Now I would pay PPV money to watch that 8)

I would rather see him against Kongo...or else Dana could just put him against basically any wrestler and make him look foolish and then use that as ammo as to why mma is the best combat sport (as well as get the last laugh for toney calling him a "ho")

Kongo would destroy him.  That wouldn't even make for worth a damn fight. I do hope more top boxers start going into the UFC and get their ass's handed to them by these guys.  All the hardcore boxing fans have all the faith in the world that if Floyd Mayweather went into the UFC he would own the guys. I find this funny, because you can't run away from those guys when they bring ya to the ground...

I'll never forget when he used to be on best damn sports show all the time. The show where he went nuts was the best by far. Somebody pissed him off and he went berzerk. They had to get him TF outta there.

James toney is a piece of crap. He's washed up and looking for attention outside of boxing. He's been talkin to much shit to Dana that Dana is going to throw him to the wolves. This will make boxing look bad because Toney will get his over the hill washed up ass handed to him in no time flat.

HAhAaha I remember that! I jumped off the couch with that interview.

Seriously though James will get destroyed. He's doing this for a paycheck.
He had Billy Blanks(t-bo man) train him for a fight that he lost. Blanks had him doing all kind of cardio in which James overtrained and couldn't handle it.
James likes to punch off the ropes and take his rest which won't be possible in the UFC.
