Tim Sylvia vs. Mariusz Pudzianowski Headlines April 23 Event Near Boston

A matchup between former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia and five-time “World’s Strongest Man” Mariusz Pudzianowski is scheduled to headline an April 23 event in Worcester, Massachusetts near Boston, according to the Boston Herald.

The card, co-promoted by Eric “Butterbean” Esch and Korean-based promotion Moosin, is also slated to include UFC veterans Rich Clementi, Yves Edwards, and Houston Alexander.

Sylvia (25-6) hasn’t fought since snapping a three-fight losing streak, which included an 9-second knockout to Ray Mercer, with a first-round TKO of Jason Riley. Another fight also awaits “The Maine-iac,” as a rematch with fellow UFC veteran Wes Sims, turned down for March in Ohio, is now expected to take place on June 5 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.

Pudzianowski (1-0) made his MMA debut in December, forcing former boxer Marcin Najman to submit to strikes in just 43-seconds.

mma is a joke.  any chump with no fight experience (brock lesnar, jose canseco) and mariusz just come into mma and start fighting, getting huge ratings.

they wouldnt dare step into boxing and fight one of the klitschko brothers.  they would be destroyed.  boxing takes way more talent than mma.  can you imagine cock chestnar trying to box wladimir klitschko or sultan ibragimov?  haha, chestnar's face would be dismanteled.

Fact is boxing takes more talent.  It is 100% guaranteed klitschko would ko any mma fighter in a boxing match, but i would put my money on him the ko'ing any of the top mma guys in a mma fight.

It's two different sports, I think the important thing to note is the training for both is a lot different.  I boxed from age 9 into my late teens and compared to a lot of the things the mma athletes do in training it's like apples and oranges.  I appreciate both,  I think Fedor would probably put Klitchsko on his ass and maul him in an MMA fight,  a boxing match would be different.  Enjoy both!

very good groundgame takes alot more skill then boxing.

MMA is the Ultimate thing. COmbines Everything.

Boxing is sooo fucking boring these days its pathetic.

"punch, punch , HUG, punch, punch, HUG, Punch, Hug"

etc for 12 fucking rounds.

Brock lesnar has more skill in wrestling then 99% of boxers has in boxing.
