No mamma.  Who you date or sleep with is different than how you treat people in day to day interactions BUT I do think it's rather odd if people that claim not to be racist get upset when their children date, marry or have children with people of different races.  But I understand it is still early with this diversity thing and that it will change with time.  We are not a country that takes well to changing things with leaps.  We do better with baby steps.

Nothing to explain...I don't know you but I guess you'd more than likely have every racial stereotype in your head before and after you met him.  If he ended up being a good guy you wouldn't give a crap as much anymore.

My dad had to go through it with my wife (German) my brother's wife (American White) and my youngest brother's wife ( Mexican straight from Mexico)


It happens on both sides.  You can live with it or have your kids resent you.  SImple as that.   Don't give them an ultimatum.  They never work.
