well I'm sure now that the Supreme Court has ruled that corporations can spend an unlimited amount of money supporting a candidate (or destroying one) I'm sure things will change for the better.......wait, scratch that.

I've now read that entire poll and I can't figure out how NewsMax can justify the headline that says "Young Adults Turn Toward GOP".

Seems very misleading at best or just complete fabrication at worst

What I don't understand is why anyone would turn to either party. Its like smelling a pile of horse shit and then a pile of dog shit and having to pick which one stinks less.

Something else that's weird is that there is no author listed on that article.

I was going to email the author and ask him/her to explain how they read that poll and arrived at such a misdleading title.

Hmmmmm - I wonder why NewsMax doesn't bother to link the source material for their stories and doesn't even list the author of the article.

Seems weird for a "News" organization

Wow, majority of kids still love some obama

In general, do you approve or disapprove of the job performance of:
12. Barack Obama as President?
Total: 4-Year
18-29 College
Approve................. ........................ ................. 58% 57%

whats also weird is that every question asked about obama and specific policies or agendas got a bigger disapproval than approval rating from the kids but his overall approval was still 57% ish...when you email the auther ask about that as well  ;)

In general, do you approve or disapprove of the job performance of:
12. Barack Obama as President?

Total: 4-Year
18-29 College
Approve.......................................................... 58% 57%
Disapprove ........................ ........................ ..... 39% 42%
Refused ........................ ........................ .......... 3% 1%
13. The Democrats in Congress?
Total: 4-Year
18-29 College
Approve.......................................................... 48% 46%
Disapprove ........................ ........................ ..... 49% 53%
Refused ........................ ........................ .......... 3% 1%
14. The Republicans in Congress?
Total: 4-Year
18-29 College
Approve.......................................................... 35% 35%
Disapprove ........................ ........................ ..... 62% 64%
Refused ........................ ........................ .......... 3% 1%

What's weird is when you get into issues there is higher disapproval rating which seems incongruent with the 58% approval rating above:

Now, thinking specifically about Barack Obama, do you approve or disapprove of the way he is handling:
15. Health care?
Total: 4-Year
18-29 College
Approve................. ........................ ................. 44% 44%
Disapprove ........................ ........................ ..... 52% 53%
Refused ........................ ........................ .......... 4% 3%
16. The federal budget deficit?
Total: 4-Year
18-29 College
Approve................. ........................ ................. 38% 40%
Disapprove ........................ ........................ ..... 58% 58%
Refused ........................ ........................ .......... 4% 2%
17. Afghanistan?
Total: 4-Year
18-29 College
Approve................. ........................ ................. 41% 46%
Disapprove ........................ ........................ ..... 55% 51%
Refused ........................ ........................ .......... 4% 3%
18. The economy?
Total: 4-Year
18-29 College
Approve................. ........................ ................. 44% 45%
Disapprove ........................ ........................ ..... 52% 53%
Refused ........................ ........................ .......... 4% 2%
19. Iran?
Total: 4-Year
18-29 College
Approve................. ........................ ................. 42% 49%
Disapprove ........................ ........................ ..... 53% 48%
Refused ........................ ........................ .......... 5% 3%

yep

I noticed that too

Agreed.  I think people generally like Obama, particularly young people...but many are not happy with the state of politics (which stinks on both sides and has become increasingly inflammatory and polarized) and don't favor hard left agendas.  There are probably more kids who are open to progressive ideas but as the debt mounts and taxes slowly increase, I think people are thinking twice about expanding entitlements and overtaxation for working folks (as college kids are about to enter the workforce).

young people like him cause he tries to be cool sounding and can talk about things young people like,  thats part of why he was elected he talks alot...  or many young people that like him do so because they are currently being indoctorenated at a university,  where liberal garbage is being pushed on them more and more every day.  many people my age or younger that i know couldnt even tell you any of bammers stances, but like him cause he saounds cool and he made history

The Stim Bill alone cost more than the entire Iraq War.

Even the CBO just said Bammer's budgets add 1.2 TRILLION more to the deficit than he even said based on his spending addiction.  .

Jesus H Freaking Christ...i bet you are the same kind of guy that says "there is no climate change because its cold in the winter) Amazing...Like i said before...Its not like Bush Left a situation that didnt cause for drastic measures..His policies and the idiology of Republicans are the whole reason the shit was so fucked up. And you gonna now blame it on the new guy whose policies havent had a chance to have a long term effect...We know the short term effect was to keep us out of the economic abyss that Dubya lead us too...like i said...miss me with the bullshit

I said i was staying off the political board because of the pure retardness thay infests this board...But thats the problem..we are so amazed and fustrated by the sheer idiotic statements that we rather do with out it and people truly believe that shit...

1.  Yes there will be rationining and people will die.  Call it community rating board, communist stadanrd, comparative effectiveness, whatever, this will occur.

2.  I don tthink palin will run and she probably shouldnt so far.

3.  We already know the long term effects of obama's policies as per the CBO.

4.  Global Warming followers always point to the hot weather in the summer to confirm global warming yet you dont want us to point to freezing winters to point to the lack of it?  A little hypocritical no?

5.  Why dont you place any blame on the C$%T leader of the Congress who has been there since 2006?  The congress signs off on the budget correct?
