Oh, well –
he wasn't going to write Beethoven's Ninth Symphony anyway.

Ouch!  :D

LOL. That's a bit harsh, TA. Besides, uh, Beethoven, for who else could you make such a claim!?   ;D

LOL TA’s comment was very funny and on point.  Some (drug addled) artists die and you mourn not only the loss of human life but also the loss of their incredible artistic talent.  You cannot help but ask, what else might they have given the world (Heath Ledger, Jimi Hendrix, John Belushi, Jacko, Jim Morrison, Dorothy Dandridge, Marilyn Monroe, etc.) if they had not died prematurely?  Did anyone, anywhere think Corey Haim was going to make a noteworthy contribution to acting (or anything else) in the years ahead?  :'(

This totally pushes Andrew Koenig out of the news...I wonder if Chekov is upset.

On the upside..my sister's teen beat autographed picture of corey haim just went through the roof in value.

I'm not disagreeing with the tenor of your post. It's more of a tact issue - ie. I would probably wait a few days before I pissed on his grave, rather than at the funeral service, itself.   ;)

Gone at 38 years old.

Everyone is acting like a cold heartless tough guy bad add behind their computers. Whatever. I challenge any of you guys who were RAISED in North America in the 80's to say they didn't like Lucas, Silver Bullet, Lost Boys, License To Drive, Dream a Little Dream and Watchers.. CLASSIC...

He was a good guy. Met him several times in the 90's. His aunt is close friends with my mother.. He went to the same school as my sisters. At the end of the day, he was weak minded and that was that, but he was the BOMB throughout the 80's and it's still tragic.

Ya, Corey was the man. It's sad to think "The 2 Coreys" was the last legit TV showing he ever had. Who would have known and it almost in a creepy way showed him spiraling downward with his depression and what not.

News stories keep referring to this guy as a former "heartthrob."  Really?  Did he really ever make anyone’s heart throb?  Whose?  I need a getbig woman’s (a tween’s really) perspective.  Was this guy ever “sexy”?  I guess I have a different aesthetic; those Tigerbeat guys all looked the same to me: not attractive at all.

When I was a young punk, I remember thinking Eric Heiden was hot: he had those huge, muscled speed skater legs (and he was good looking too), but Corey Haim? Um, no.  :-X

Corey dated Alyssa Milano for three years among other babes. I doubt they were thinking of a gay Black guy's tastes when they used the term "heartthrob."  ::)

And you, the gay man, knows this how? I get more play now that I shave my head (because I'm really thin on top) than I did when with hair. From having flat tops, long hair, shorter styled hair in a different types of styles...shaved is the the best- easier to deal with too!

And every woman I've met, talked to-sexually or not- have all said they liked shorter hair/shaved head just as much as having any other hairstyle.

I think the underlying principle is not how long your hair is/isn't. It's what you look like with the amount of hair you have.

I liked him in Lost Boys..

I guess actors just can't handle the money and fame too well. What's Johnny Depp's excuse?

Fucked up,  it's sad to see so many lives that lead to nowhere.
