Merlin Olsen dead

Too bad.  He was a nice guy.  Had the pleasure on a few occassions to meet Merlin and Deacon Jones at my uncles office.  I remember way back in the late 70's going to Merlin's car dealership to pretend to buy a car just to see him. Hey we have a ton of autographed stuff of Merlin's if anyone wants any.  Worth more now.

 I read about it this morning, man thats sad. I met him a couple of years ago at christian okoye's golf tournament and fundraiser. He's such a nice guy!

Used to go to Legends all the time (still do once in a while) down on Second St. in Belmont Shore. It burned down a couple of years ago and re-opened about a year later. It's about 5 miles from my house.

They sponsored me.  The owner Gene Rotondo is a friend of mine.  My photo was lost in the fire I heard.  Oh well.  Here I am in their shirt.

Throughout his adult life Merlin Olsen was always considered an honest, decent man and a true gentleman. But out on the gridiron he was a beast. Even as a little kid I was inspired by the Rams defensive line as well as the Pittsburgh defense way back in the Jack Lambert days.
