tax season - food supplements
« on: March 12, 2010, 04:01:37 AM »
Dumb question...Is protein powder considered taxable?  I never buy the stuff locally anymore and prefer to mail order from various net companies.  I don't recall seeing tax listed on the invoices.

If its being shipped over state lines then no there is no tax. ( some states there might be an exception )
If its the company has a office in your state then there should be tax.
If there isn't tax, then sales tax is included in the price, or they aren't paying sales taxes to their local state government.
