Good Joe, but do you really think a gym is a good investment in this economy. You're a PT not a numbers guy so I was curious if you sought help in crunching the numbers?

Typically, gym business will be down during the summer, pick up around Sept thru Oct, slow from Thanksgiving through December.  Don't get discourage.  Keep expense low.  Recoup your loss with new membership drive in January.
Good luck.

I agree with everything you're telling me, but the only thing is we are really not going to be open to the public, meaning we are only accepting athletes, the "weekend warriors", civil service types (police, fire, military and people who are trying to get stronger and better conditioned for physical testing) and of course people who want to train hard.

Coach actually believes he is going to pay his expenses by offering memberships to less than 5%, if that, of the public. Hairbrain, all the way hairbrain.

Still don't like you, Joe but I wish you luck.  Wouldn't wish misfortune on an expensive venture in opening a facility.

Nice going coach. Will you be outfitting it with Westside Barbell and Elitefts?

If you remembered what we talked about a while ago, one of the high schools I do the S&C for had about $300k worth of equipment donated to them from 24hr fitness, most of it was not equipment I would have taken but it is what it is. In return they gave me most of their old equipment, I mean bullet proof stuff....3 cages, olympic bench press, 3 0-90 benches, chest supported row, lat pull down, seated row, 2 glute/ham benchs, about 5000-7000lbs of plates, 2 Texas bars and 2 regular bars, bumbells, 4 trees and bunch of other equipment. The stuff from Elite would be jump bands, chains, boards (for board press), chalk bowls. Eventually with in about 6mos of opening, Tred Sled, Reverse hyper, Belt squat and other stuff.

Along with tractor tires, plyo boxes, sleds, prowlers, yolks, log presses and other strongman equipment.

LOL...It kinda works like this. I interview you, you don't interview me. It's about the training system.

Not a froo froo commercial gym Vince. Dude, do you actually think I'm stupid enough to start with a fresh clientele? The gym I'm opening is about a mile from where I train out of. I just grew out of the other one.

but what if they lie  :o

Then they are told nicely they won't fit in. They will have a short trial period to prove themselves. If they screw around and disrupt and slow the pace or show no seriousness they cannot continue.
