Saddam did NOT have WMD's.
We didn't liberate the Iraqis, we killed about a quarter million of them and threw their country back into the stone age. This is just American ethnocentric ideology that we needed to "liberate" them in the first place.

Al Qaeda was in Iraq. But Al Qaeda is in EVERY Meslem country and many non-Muslem countries. You want to invade them all? The main Al Qaeda location was Saudi Arabia, but the US would never get tough against them for political and economic reasons.

I'm in the Army. I was called back after being out for three years and they put me with a Georgia National Guard unit.

For the first half of the deployment I was on an Embedded Training Team, helping to train the Afghan National Army.

For the second half, I was a tower guard. Pretty boring but safer. I didn't have to go on convoys through Kabul.

Nothing that in depth. We had a couple of classes on culture. Things to do and not to do.

I read a handbook that the Marines put out that was very good, but it is not required reading for the Army. Should be, though.

I heard those guys like to get high as hell out there. My buddy told me stories about them just smoking weed and opium from morning to night every day.
