The AP is reporting (and this is on the Fox News site) that the Dems claim they're just one vote short.

However, the whip counts I've seen (including the ones I've posted) tell a far different story. Again, they may lose Defazio. And as Rush pointed out, why would Obama be appealing to REPUBLICAN Joseph Cao (the only one who voted for the House bill, ONLY AFTER the Dems got over the hump), if they were that close.
