just imagine what your life would be if the bazillions of hours you spent "playing video games" had been used to educate yourself to improve your salary and quality of life.

while you re "playing video games" someone is learning, achieving and basically moving on into adulthood and responsability.

Kids play videos games - and they shouldnt, they re getting addicted very soon-. Adults dont.

Video games are an addiction, and a business that weighs billions of dollars a year. It's a fairly recent phenomenon so we still dont know the side effects on a large scale.

I actually agree with some of the stuff uberman writes from time to time but to bash everyone on here just because they occasionally play videos games is a bit much.

I typically find your posts articulate and well thought out but this one is fundamentally flawed. Video Games within themselves are not an addiction and do not cause an addiction. People can develop an addiction for gaming like any other outlet tangible or intangible. The game or premise of "games" do not magically create an addiction and I don't believe they are just for kids. Life IMO is about being well rounded and moderate in all hobbies. One weekend I might read a book, play video games, go to the shooting range, the movies, go out on the boat, relax with friends, hit some bars/clubs etc. To me life is about experiencing and enjoying many different hobbies and yes for me this does include some good ole PS3 or 360 action.
