Deere Says New Health Care Reform Law Will Increase 2010 Expense By $150 Million After-Tax

MOLINE, Illinois (March 25, 2010) — Deere & Company announced today that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act signed into law this week will adversely impact its expenses for fiscal 2010. As a result of the legislation, the company's expenses are expected to be about $150 million higher on an after-tax basis, primarily in the second quarter. This impact was not included in the 2010 outlook for net income attributable to Deere & Company of approximately $1.3 billion disclosed in the company's first-quarter earnings report on February 17th.

In a few years their will be no private health insurers,so we will ALL be under single payer.However,if a company is paying out about 12% of its earnings for health care and now can drop ALL health care and only pay an 8% charge,what do you think they will do?

You laugh that deer fired 700 workers before Obama took office,how about Catapillar,which Obama lied and said would be hiring back workers once his great stimulus passed and they havent hired ONE worker back and continue to lay off.

IOWA CITY, Iowa — President Barack Obama dared Republicans to try to repeal his new health care law, telling them today to "Go for it" and see how well they do with voters in November.

"Be my guest," Obama said in the first of many planned appearances to sell the revamp before fall congressional elections. "If they want to have that fight, we can have it. Because I don't believe the American people are going to put the insurance industry back in the driver's seat."

maybe the higher taxes due by companies and higher cost of insurance as a whole now... are you dead between the ears or do you not understand that insurance is a money-in vs. risk model and people are denied pre-existing coverage for a reason, insuring these people is not a profitable business model. Perhaps a calamitous injury or disease bill that was funded by taxes would be a better answer to the problem. Wholesale insuring of everyone can and never will be sustainable. The economy will collapse as a result of this bill if it is truly implemented. There isn't enough paper let alone gold to back up the money that will be printed due to inflation. The real Great Depression is coming and like the circumcision doctor said, 'It won't be long now...'

Where the hell are you getting that? Unemployment was in the high 4% range in 2007. Under Bush, the unemployement rate never got above a level that Europe endures during a "good" year. Since Obama inherited this thing when it was 13 months old, yes, we do expect job losses to have atleast stopped by now. You have got to be fucking kidding me man.
