people love a winner.  still, it's amazing to see such a swing.  Obama's sales job on the bill is working, accurate or not.

It will fade as more and more details about the plan come out.

55% Favor Repeal of Health Care Bill
Thursday, March 25, 2010

Just before the House of Representatives passed sweeping health care legislation last Sunday, 41% of voters nationwide favored the legislation while 54% were opposed. Now that President Obama has signed the legislation into law, most voters want to see it repealed.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey, conducted on the first two nights after the president signed the bill, shows that 55% favor repealing the legislation. Forty-two percent (42%) oppose repeal. Those figures include 46% who Strongly Favor repeal and 35% who Strongly Oppose it.

We shall see.  With the court challenges this thing will not be effective for years and things could change in November and 2012.

Court challenges are moot beach.  Any state can opt out and have it's own plan.

Guess what KC, if we become insolvent the end result will be far more dead and sick than if we go back to tried and true free market economics.

Then I guess those fourteen states are in trouble.  Again, we shall see.  I don't think it's quite that simple.

Then there are the more than 30 states that are considering passing legislation to block various portion of the new law.  This is far from settled IMO.

Block what?  They can OPT OUT.  It's right in the bill.  Any state that wants to can opt out and start their own plan without individual mandate if they wish.  Pretty straight forward to me.

kc, that is much different than the other polls I have seen the last couple days.  They probably need a larger sample size to get a more accurate assessment.

One example:

"Some states are also looking at other ways to avoid participating in the overhaul. Virginia and Idaho have passed legislation aimed at blocking the bill's insurance requirement from taking effect, and the Republican-led Legislature in Florida is trying to put a constitutional amendment on the ballot to ask voters to exempt the state from the federal law's requirements."

If it's as simple as you say, then the court fights should be over pretty quickly.  I doubt that happens.

So 80+% disapproval raating last week.

rasmussen (VERY conservative poll) has it all the way down to 55% repeal polling now.

let's use our brains... obama spends the next 2 weeks touring stadiums talking about the great beenfits of this bill, and, what will happen?

(Quick: Predict public opinion will suddenly reverse back up to 80% negative, so you can be wrong, again).

As soon as repubs put their ego in the fvcking pocket and admit obama is a worthly political adversary, they can begin to get to work on defeating him.  Right now, they (and many here) are in denial.  Obama just dedicated 1/6 of all americans' labor and $ to his goals - permanenty.  That is a prety huge deal.  he didn't get that done by being lucky.

He got it done because republicans couldnt stop him. They didnt have the votes. You keep acting like he overcame great odds by passing this. This isnt like Reagan getting his tax cut plan by democrat controlled houses. This is a democrat with super majorities in both houses. You keep acting like Obama is a wiz kid because he got something passed that republicans cant stop.

By the way,Obamas speeches dont persuade people as has been proven by his utter failures in New Jersey and Mass. Its old news.He is stale. He can barely get his own liberal party to follow him.

okay BILLY.

When he convinces dems to take unpopular positions on cap/trade and amnesty, and those pass too... keep on claiming the moral victory.

In the meantime, his POS agenda will be complete and he'll STILL be swimming at 50% approval.

no they cant...b/c any federal tax they pay will be paid into this as well...also the states plan has to cover the regulations in the bill it just may do it in a different way...part of that regulation is that every person will have to have insurance so even if a state enacts its own pool their constituents will still be required by the federal bill and therefor by the state bill to buy insurance... ::)
