I used to think that all chiropractors were hacks and shills and I've even chided Getbiggers who are chiropractors about it but I don't think along those lines anymore. I think the field has its benefits and uses and that it's better to judge on a chiropractor-by-chiropractor basis. Some are actually quite good at what they do while others are complete shit. I guess it depends on their schooling and how qualified they actually are.

That said, I'd venture to say that it's a better job to have than a lot of others out there.

Must be a Cheap ass X-Ray because i had a few that ran 15k per and that were normal ones.  :o Thank god for insurance!! Grandmother was a surgeon and she always said that they were crooks and they are.  >:( I had to see a few but refused treatment because they said that it would be a life long treatment session.  I live with 4 Herniated Disc in my back, Neck, Degenerative Disk Disease and Arthritis all throughtout my back but i would never let one of those twinks fuck my back up even worse.  ;)

an MRI is only 2500-3000 there is no way ever that a plain film x-ray would cost that. Even an old school (non-digital) x-ray machine itself brand new is only 12-15k

the problem isn't with the people, it's with the theories the profession is based upon.  those theories are pseudo-science.

Psuedo science?  Show me where surgical procedures have studies behind them.....but wait!!!  Chiropractic manupulation has research.

Also....in case you guys dont quite know this....if adjusting is so bullshit...why are there osteopaths....which are (*drumroll).......MD's!!!!!!

Someone once told me, "If you're dumb, you can be one!"

But I never took his advice so I don't know any that I can comment on.

But they make lots of money though.

I have a good friend who is dumber than an oyster and his dad said, "Son, I'll pay your "tuition". What do you want to be .... A personal trainer, a masseur, or a chiropractor?"

He smartened up a bit just then so he picked masseur and now he owns a three bedroom home by Jay's, two ski-doos, a speed-boat on Lake Mead, and two Mastiffs.  And not even 30 yet!

He may be dumb but he sure ain't smart!

JNN, have you ever considered going to Chiropractor School?

Stunt,
THis is very misleading as if you are employeed by a clinic and or simply working for a large practice then you aren't going to be making much at all. However just like any other private profession- if you are able to GROW yoru practice then you can become successful. Most that are independent and have a small office are just "getting by".

Chiropractors = woo.

There are some parents that take their children (as young as 4) to see chiropractors  ::) Damn stupid. That should be considered child abuse.

I've had good experiences. Went for ART on pecs. And also to help get fitted for orthotics to compensate for knees that have been shot for years. Helped quite a bit actually. No spinal adjustments or things like that, mind you.

what happened to your pecs?

worth it, like many said youre not going to fix a problem over night...do your research though b/c like in ALL THINGS some are better than others.

I had chiropractor that was part of the same wrestling club i was in and would give me discounted adjustments and it was very helpful in relieving the discomfort from ribs that got stuck out of place and pinched nerves...

the only way to get real actual results with functional scoliosis patients is to start treating them young as children, nothing wrong with that.

Idiot! You don't perform manipulations on a child who's skeletal structure is not yet fully developed.

Yeah, I am going to have to disagree with this. I don't think anyone should be adjusting a 4 year old's skeletal structure.  ::)

And what are you basing this on just a "hunch" you sir are the idiot, look at the research it's there to support manipulation for scoliosis in children the fact that the growth plates aren't closed is why children have such great success in preveting scoliosis problems in the future. FYI there are a lot of techniques used on children and the elderly that are very low force, they are nothing like a typical adjustment. Please research what you are talking about before sounding like an idiot next time..... Hope this helps
