FUNNY ESPN ARTICLE ABOUT WRESTLEMANIA
« on: April 01, 2010, 10:26:21 AM »
For some of you wrestling purists you may find this article offensive. But for guys like me in their mid-30's who watch wrestling nowadays as a guilty pleasure, this article is pretty funny. I almost pissed myself laughing. It's long but stick with it.....definitely worth a read.....

That article was actually not only funny but spot on if you think about it.

Bill Simmons looks at wrestling almost exactly the same way I do.

1:12: Some sad news: After nearly two decades of top-notch wrestling, Triple H is edging dangerously close to the Hulk Hogan Mammary Zone, when great pecs suddenly morph into what look to be bad breast implants, depending on the position of the wrestler's body. Also, I just tried to detach my own retinas with an apple peeler.

Quality article, laugh-out-loud funny!   ;D

I also wish they'd shut Striker up.  I thought he had potential when he first started announcing, but he's become the master of stating the friggin' obvious.

Striker’s become one of those guys you who, while watching him, you lean back in your chair and think, “He’s gotta know somebody.”

I remember a time when Vince actually auditioned announcers.
If the guy sucked, he wouldn’t get hired.
And if he’d been there a while and wasn’t cutting it, he was fired.

There are plenty of guys a lot more talented than Striker, and who I’m sure would jump at the chance & do their best to shine on WWE TV.

Like a guy who might be retired, but obviously won't be able to keep away from the spotlight...

Yeah, but I hope they don't make HBK an announcer.
The few times he's called a match, I truthfully didn't care for it.

Although, it'd be a vast improvement over M.S.

IMO Stricker and Michael Cole both need to go. Cole constantly screws up on the mic and Stricker is more annoying then Joey Styles.

Joey Styles could at least contribute to the match.
He reminded me of a somewhat twink-ish version of J.R.

Striker is simply irritating, which can be a good thing…WHEN THAT’S YOUR JOB!

But, Striker has entered the realm of “X-Pac Heat.”
Sadly, that’s a one-way trip.

I just find striker to be a wannabe. A guy who tried to make it as a wrestler but failed at it miserably.
