So why don't they have it anymore if it was so profitable? Was it because of the alleged affair?
If i recall correctly, it had something to do both with the property the business was housed in, and the brother-in-law taking a job elsewhere.
She didn't care about the affair so much as the fact that the mistress was getting better jewellry than her. lol. The affair had nothing to do with it. Her marriage was pretty much dead anyway. They only stuck together for the sake of their parents, and their kids, and providing a stable home environment for their kids growing up. Tthey had a workable arrangement among themselves, lived their separate lives discreetly, and no one was the wiser that the marriage was dead, ...not even their kids... until the day she said she couldn't live the lie anymore and wanted a divorce. He said "fine no problem. we'll sell the house and split everything up", ...and she said "Nope. keep the house I'll move into an apartment, when the kids move out, then we sell it." Two years later when her son moved into his own place and their daughter went off to college, they sold the house and split everything up. It was one of the most amicable divorces I'd ever seen. Her husbands behaviour throughout the whole process made him look like an absolute saint (especially since she was the one who left him), and we were all wondering if she was insane to be divorcing such a wonderful man. There were times when she asked herself that as well. It was just one of those arranged marriages where she married as a teenager, and went from her father's house straight to her husbands house, and she never got to know who she was, and they never really grew together. It was her duty to obey her parents and marry the man they selected for her, and it was his duty to marry the woman his parents had selected for him, start a family and carry on the family name. Neither of them was ever really happy, and when they turned the corner with their daughters health challenge... there was really nothing keeping them together. After what they went through with their daughter, they had the strength to tell both their parents to back off and they will do as they pleased with their lives, even if it meant divorce. it was their marriage to dismantle if that what they chose to do.
