I think a 2nd and some future picks.  I just don't see trading a franchise QB, when you have shit on the roster to replace him.

I don't know bro...He's no spring chicken...He's no favre either in regards to durability and longevity...At his age I say get what you can for him...I also say Kolb will suprise some people with his efficiency....I do agree a franchise QB like that is hard to come by but his best years are behind him...when you make a decision like this you cant base it on what the player has done as much as what you think they will do in the future....

Of course time will tell if the players they draft with the picks they acquired makes a difference in how this trade is viewed years down the road....

How in the world is the guy not producing?  He may not be the most productive at the position but he is one of the most productive.  Most fans are idiots but Philly fans are even worse.  Some coach once said something like if you listen to the people in the stands, you'll be sitting with them soon.  It is hard to pick a guy that is the most productive player on the team and say he's the weakness or this is a change that can make us better.  Neither Philly or Dallas are a one man team.  No qb in the NFL can get it done all by himself.
Come get me.

Andy is a defensive man.  Even without McNabb they are still a 10-6 . 9-7 out the playoffs in the wild card or 1st round game.  they do save 25-30M over the next 3 yrs or so with out his salary n cap it.  They can add a couple of components to the team.  Vick gives them more movement n the same arm strength.  if he plays smart and gets something back over the next 2yrs...you never know cause the defensive will be there to back him up unlike ATL.

There are several factors at play here, the biggest being that the Eagles are "rebuilding".

1. All of the teams they have cut the most people, also they are now one of the youngest.
2. McNabb is in his last year of his contract, if you are not going to resign him then you have to get something for him.
3. The part that is hard to figure out why keep Vick? The are tons of cheaper back ups out, you could probably get a Jeff Garcia type of player for the vet min.
4. For Washington this is no brainer, Shanahan will get the most of him.

I'm not the biggest fan of his, don't get me wrong, but he finally had a decent set of WR's last year and they were very young.  Given a couple of years together, they would have been great on offense.  And with the 37th pick, they aren't going to get anywhere near a player of his caliber.  I can understand getting max value while you can, but I don't think they did.  Kolb is decent, but I don't think he will step in and be as productive as McNabb...and in the NFL where a franchise can completely turn around in 1 yr, you have to make every move to improve right now, not 3 or 4 yrs down the road.  The window is too small with free agency/

This is actually great for the skins. With Mike as coach and a productive QB at the helm it shakes up that division even more.  I think it is crazy they kept him in the same division though. Eventhough, I could give a shit less. The skins have more than a wildcard chance this year. The cowboy's having Romo will never hit a consistant winning stride and I don't think Phillies D is talented enough to keep Kolb on the field producing consistantly.

He has decent arm size.....just to keep it bbing related.
it was time, he refuses to run at all anymore when the game is on the line , esp in the playoffs. think steve young won';t pull out all stops. than this yearts pro bowl he was the top runner for the nfc

Didnt the eagles trade Sheldon Brown away...thats a hit at the CB in my opinon..
And The Browns got better in the secondary with that addition and E Wright on the other side

Philly...Dude Kolb better be an absolute beast. Because if he comes out screwing up..this would be a pretty bad screw up

Other than Chris Cooley, who is McNabb going to throw to?

With D-Jax and Maclin, the Eagles had a seriously explosive offense last season and I didn't foresee much of a drop-off this year.

The real story here is that McNabb didn't want to go to Oakland, which were willing to give up Nnamdi Asomugha - an absolute BEAST at corner - AND the 39th pick to get McNabb.

That's just how bad the Raiders suck.

next year?probably not...2-3 years from now?yes....my opinion is that the eagle will take a small step back next year as a result of this trade along with some other moves...but will then take a big step forward 2-3 years from now....

You must not follow the Skins like me   but Santana Moss can kill a defense in a matter of 2 minutes in a game.   I know  I was a victim!!!!!!!!!     :'(
