Its not so much that she hates them, its just that she wishes there were more to talk about with most people as most are rather boring with little to say with any real substance.  People really only want to talk about themselves.

The constant one-liners people spew and the single serving friends we all meet are really annoying.

We have a theory that the constant repetition of one-liners or the constant TRYING to find a fitting one-liner stem from a bombardment of watching sit-coms amongst peer groups where its just forced applause line after forced applause line.

They then carry this over into their life and we are all then forced to suffer and cringe atthe sad attempt at humor and "conversation" they put forth.

Notice it next time you are out and about, you can`t escape it.  It is mildly amusing.

I know exactly what you mean. Im normally pretty quiet around everyone except close friends, gf, and family..  simply because I dont feel like putting out any effort at all to talk with other people. its not that i dont like the people, i just have nothing to say, so i dont say anything.

Its not a reason to get a negative feeling inside of you (the one liner thing)  I dont mind when people are constantly attempting humor, and  when they pick every obvious oppurtunity to use any slightly funny or sarcastic line whenever they possibly can, no matter how obvious and easy it was....  I see such behavior as friendly, an attempt to "bond" or make the moment more enjoyable.... although i would never communicate like that, i would feel stupid and annoying..  

maybe you and jezebelle are projecting feelings you would have about yourself if you were the one attempting one liners onto the people you come across who are doing the one liner attempts.

I take it as friendly also and go a bit further.  I will compliment the one-liner "giver" in a reciprocal fashion sometimes out of nicety or to win them instantly (always works) or just because I want to see their reaction. 

For instance, last night at the gym I was doing Dips with 3 plates and a 10 lber on the belt and this guy walks up to me and proclaims, "You better get out of here before they see that you dismantled the machine and broke it". To which I said, "Well I need to find a more efficient way and try out some of those new exercises that I see you so I wouldn`t have to do it this way."   (he is always doing some weird shit at the gym, sometimes inventive shit lol)  He liked that just as I knew he would.  Smiled all the way to his next set.  So when I see him again, I bet you a hundred he will have that smile again.

Of course if I totally DISAGREE or not on board with their line of thought I will not do this.  I will question what they are saying literally.  Something along the lines of "why do you say that?" or "Why do you feel that way"?
