There may be a clear explanation as to why Michael Jackson had trouble sleeping the night before he died -- authorities found a pill bottle in the room containing tablets that would have hyped the singer up big time.

The bottle, which had no label, contained 13 tablets. Each tablet had a combination of ephedrine, caffeine and aspirin. The commercial sale of ephedrine -- a stimulant designed for weight loss -- is banned in the U.S. because of reports of heart attacks, strokes and even death.

Each pill contained 25 mg of ephedrine, 200 mg of caffeine and 80 mg of aspirin. The caffeine alone in each pill is equivalent to nearly a 6-pack of Coca-Cola.

One company that manufactures the drug warns against using it past mid-afternoon, because it will cause insomnia.

According to the toxicology results, ephedrine was present in Jackson's urine.

I remember even in the late eighties and early ninties, you could go to any family doctor, drop 40 bucks on his desk and he'd give you a 2cc shot of any AAS you wanted and it was clean. Not this half dosed undergroung garbage thats out there flooding the markets now.

no dick, the market, the high regulation after the early 90s, the increased penalties .....made Human grade gear less prevalent and less available

so the market drove the creation of these underground labs to offer some of the steroids that were no longer available by the pharmacutical companies, and to provide the other stuff at a more reasonable price

I don't think Michael had trouble sleeping because of ephedrine and certainly not because he drank tons of coke. I think he was so desensitized to benzos they no longer worked despite using massive amounts.

He was probably using the ECA mostly for weight control. Yes he was underweight but his aesthetic ideals were far from normal.
