But I believe his point was the fact that "everyone" was saying how the Dow being at 14,000 meant nothing for the economy, nothing for Main Street etc etc...but now that it approaches 11k all of a sudden Main Street is great, the economy is on fire, people are getting hired by the billions etc etc.

Thats true but so is the point that when it was at 14000 NO ONE on the left said it was because of Bush.Now that its at 11,000 everyone on the left says its BECAUSE of Obamas policies.So the double talk is on both sides.

I dont think others here would be so forthcoming about it.  If the DOW was sunk, it wouldn't just be getbiggers... it would be hannity, Rush, etc, blaming the stimulus.

Yes,however,have you watched MSNBC at all today or heard stuff from it.They are trying to tie in the mine Collapse to the tea parties because the owners gave money to republican candidates[as well as some democrats but mostly republicans].Now,come on,a mining collapse is political.

I dont think Rush would blame the stimulus,he would blame the health care bill as scaring investors.

Anyone that watches intra-day market movements will probably agree that the past few weeks have seen some very unusual price action.

The way dips are getting brought right now is quite odd. It does appear that someone is holding it up.

The earnings season will probably sort this out one way or the other.

From what I've seen the volume seems to be very anemic. I would bet it's a lot of bank/financial institutions buying platfroms trading with each other.

A little out there, but after everything that has happened....who knows.

let me guess... sales of 300$ web sites are concurrently rising with the dow as well?

haven't seen any evidence of market value translating to recovering economy and job creation.
